Coir Fiber

Coir is a versatile natural fibre extracted from mesocarp tissue, or husk of the coconut fruit Generally fibre is of golden color when cleaned after removing from coconut husk. Coir is the fibrous husk of the coconut shell. Coir fibres are found between the hard, internal shell and the outer coat of a coconut. The two varieties of coir are brown and white. Brown coir harvested from fully ripened coconuts is thick, strong and has high abrasion resistance. It is typically used in mats, brushes and sacking. Mature brown coir fibres contain more lignin and less cellulose than fibres such as flax and cotton, so are stronger but less flexible. White coir fibres harvested from coconuts before they are ripe are white or light brown in color and are smoother and finer, but also weaker. They are generally spun to make yarn used in mats or rope.

Grow Bags

A growbag is a large plastic bag filled with a growing medium and used for growing plants. The growing medium is usually based on a soilless organic material such as peat, coir, composted green waste, composted bark or composted wood chips, or a mixture of these. Various nutrients are added, sufficient for one season's growing, so frequently only planting and watering are required of the end-user. Planting is undertaken by first laying the bag flat on the floor or bench of the growing area, then cutting access holes in the uppermost surface, into which the plants are inserted.

Coco Peat Block

Cocopeat is a natural fibre made out of coconut husks. The extraction of the coconut fibre from husks gives us this by-product called cocopeat. Cocopeat is a 100% natural growing medium. Clean coir has natural rooting hormones and anti-fungal properties.

The properties of Coco Peat make it resistant to bacterial and fungal growth. Coco Peat holds water rather than shedding it like traditional peat does! It holds 8-9 times it's weight in water.Coco Peat has the ability to store and release nutrient to plants for extended periods of time. It also has great oxygenation properties which is important for healthy root development. It has a pH of 5.2-6.8 which is neutral to slightly acidic. This makes it great for alkaline garden soils.Easy to use! Coir Buffered Pith

The processing of coco husks to obtain coco coir involve a series of steps like aging, washing, rinsing, buffering, drying, grinding, grading, and compressing into different size and type of blocks. These steps are necessary to change the physical and chemical characteristics of coco coir and guarantee product quality, consistency and uniformity suitable for plant growing. Without proper processing, coco coir will have an excessive salt content; degenerate and compact resulting in problems with Pythium root rot; and lead to nutritional imbalances especially related to calcium and magnesium deficiencies.
