A laser pointer is most commonly used to project a point of light to highlight items of interest during a Night Observation. You can use it to show any particular star, the beam of light is so intense that it seems you are touching the star with the help of the laser beam. This instrument is very useful for conducting Night Observations.
Is the main mirror in the telescope. It is the major component of a telescope. Light from the source falls on this mirror first and is reflected back to the secondary mirror. Primary mirror should be choosen very carefully because the edges of the mirror is normally not polished which in turn do not reflect the light from that surface which have not been polished effectively.
Red Dot Finder: The LED illuminates a pin-hole at the focus of the lens. The eye sees an image of the pinhole at infinity. You use the finder with both eyes open, one eye looking into the lens, the other looking at the sky. Your brain superimposes the image of one eye upon that of the other and the visual effect is that you see a red dot placed on the sky.
A Barlow is a negative (diverging) lens that is placed between the objective lens (or primary mirror from now on these words will be used interchangeably) and the eyepiece of a telescope. It increases the effective focal length of an objective lens, thereby increasing the magnification. The idea is that 2 eyepieces and a Barlow will give you the flexibility of magnification of 4 eyepieces, and will give higher magnifications with less powerful eyepieces.
What are its Advantages and DisadvantagesAssuming that the Barlow is a good one, the only disadvantage is a slight loss of light throughput this is of the order of 3%. The advantages are numerous:
A range of portable telescope with added optics to present an erect im age, optimized for the observation of terrestrial objects. They are used for birdwatching and other naturalist activities, for surveillance, and for any other applications that requires more magnification than a pair of binoculars. With variable Zoom eyepiece to give a range of magnifications.
Space OTAs are high end optical tube assemblies made to the best quality standard. With a range of optical systems, from Maksutovs to the high end ED refractors, the OTAs are compatible with almost all available mounts.
The compound Plssl lens provides a largeapparent field of viewalong with relatively largeFOV. This makes this lens ideal for a variety of observational purposes includingdeep skyandplanetaryviewing. The chief disadvantage of the Plssl optical design is shorteye relief, [citation needed] which is restricted to about 70-80% of focal length. The short eye relief is more critical in short focal lengths, when viewing can become uncomfortable.
This eyepiece is one of the more expensive to manufacture because of the quality of glass, and the need for well matched convex and concave lenses to prevent internal reflections. Due to this fact, the quality of different Plssl eyepieces varies. There are notable differences between cheap Plssls with simplestanti-reflection coatingsand well made ones
Solar filtersSolar filters permit the safe observation of the sun with a telescope.Solar Filters are used to reduce the visible and Infra Red Rays of Sun which can damage the eyes permanently. There are many kind of Solar Filter available in the International Market depending upon the degree of intensity. These films are used for various purposes like Photography, Viewing etc.
