Durum is hard wheat with yellow endosperm which gives pasta and other extruded products it's yellowish tint. Durum wheat is produced in bulk quantity in Malwa belt of MP state in india.

Sehore region has a black cotton and alluvial fertile soil that produces these special grain variety called Sharbati. Sharbati also known as The Golden Grain has more transparency has a golden texture and feels heavy on the palm and has a sweet taste (hence the name Sharbati).
