A reinforcement of one or more layers of natural/synthetic fiber or combination thereof; applied by a suitable technique. Spiral wire (Galvanized Steel Wire). Abrasion resistant, outer rubber cover corrugated or smooth. TYPE-2: Semi-embedded internal wire. A rubber inner lining. MECTRAS  coupling is a device used to connect two shafts together at their ends for the purpose of transmitting mechanical power.  MECTRAS  Couplings do not normally allow disconnection of shafts during operation, however there are torque limiting couplings which can slip or disconnect when some torque limit is exceeded.    Benefit:    The primary purpose of  MECTRAS  couplings is to join two pieces of rotating equipment while permitting some degree of misalignment or end movement or both.
