Pin Bush Couplings

Pin Bush Couplings are generally used in such industrial applications where limited misalignment of shafts is compulsory. Pin Bush Couplings have two Hubs made of cast iron and variable number of flexible elements, depending on the power to be transmitted. The flexible elements of rubber bushes are capable of damping vibration and shock loads as well as accepting misalignment that inevitably occurs between rotating shafts which are independently supported. Our Pin Bush Couplings are suitable for rotation in either direction and do not require lubrication. The provided rubber ensures safety of Pin Bush Couplings against bad effect of water, dust and atmospheric conditions. Highlights

Rubber Tyre Couplings

Rubber Tyre Couplings comprise of rubber tyre which connects two metal hubs - one on the driving shaft and the other on the driven shaft. Rubber Tyre Couplings provide resiliency to the tyre coupling, which ultimate makes them capable of absorbing shock load, parallel misalignment upto 4mm, angular misalignment upto 4o, end float upto 5mm or combination of all misalignment depending upon the size of the coupling. Dimensions given in the tables are approximate and pertain to Standard Coupling of GBM range, but tailor-made Couplings with Hubs of longer or shorter lengths, Seals & Grub Screws can also be supplied as per requirement of ndividual customer. Following service information must be furnished with enquires -
  • H. P. & R. P.M. of the Drive
  • Types of driving & driven machines
  • Nominal diameters and lengths of shaft extensions of both the machines
  • Dimensional details of finished bores & keyways, if required
  • Any other details relevant to the working conditions of the Drive
Standard Coupling Types : X, Y, Z & S Selection of couplings :
  • Determine service factor corresponding to the type of application under consideration from the Table of Service Factors.
  • Determine the Maximum Horse Power = Normal rated H. P.x Service Factor of DRIVE,
  • Determine Rating of Coupling = Maximum H.P. / Rated R P M of DRIVE
  • After having determined the Rating of Coupling, check whether maximum bore and recommended speed of the Coupling correspond to the requirements of the drive. If the allowable maximum bore is too small, select a larger coupling; in case allowable safe speed is too low, a different type of Coupling will have to be considered. You may refer to GBM for recommendatio
Lubrication : Indian Oil "Servogem 2", or, any equivalent grease is recommended for use. For Couplings for high speed and special application, use lubricants as will be recommended individually. Spare Parts : Parts of a Hi-Torque Resilient Coupling of particular type are interchangeable with parts of a Coupling of similar type. While ordering out spare Grid Spring or other parts, the code number/serial number stamped on the Coupling name-plate must be furnished to ensure correct supply.

Shear Pin Coupling

GBM Shear Pin Coupling are used to control the rated torque. The pin shears off incase the torque of the whole coupling exceeds the rated torque.

GBM Shear Pin coupling assembly consists of Shear Pin, Shear pin plates, Bush, Ball Bearing, Ball Retainer.

GBM Shear Pin is fastened to Shear Pin Plates (along with Bush) which in turn is fastened to the sleeves of the gear couplings. One of the plates are designed to accommodate a ball bearing which gives smoother movement of the total assembly.

Dimensions given in the tables are approximate and pertain to Standard Coupling of GBM range, but tailor-made Couplings with Hubs of longer or shorter lengths, Seals & Grub Screws can also be supplied as per requirement of ndividual customer. Following service information must be furnished with enquires -
  • H. P. & R. P.M. of the Drive
  • Types of driving & driven machines
  • Nominal diameters and lengths of shaft extensions of both the machines
  • Dimensional details of finished bores & keyways, if required
  • Any other details relevant to the working conditions of the Drive
Standard Coupling Types : X, Y, Z & S Selection of couplings :
  • Determine service factor corresponding to the type of application under consideration from the Table of Service Factors.
  • Determine the Maximum Horse Power = Normal rated H. P.x Service Factor of DRIVE,
  • Determine Rating of Coupling = Maximum H.P. / Rated R P M of DRIVE
  • After having determined the Rating of Coupling, check whether maximum bore and recommended speed of the Coupling correspond to the requirements of the drive. If the allowable maximum bore is too small, select a larger coupling; in case allowable safe speed is too low, a different type of Coupling will have to be considered. You may refer to GBM for recommendatio
Lubrication : Indian Oil "Servogem 2", or, any equivalent grease is recommended for use. For Couplings for high speed and special application, use lubricants as will be recommended individually. Spare Parts : Parts of a Hi-Torque Resilient Coupling of particular type are interchangeable with parts of a Coupling of similar type. While ordering out spare Grid Spring or other parts, the code number/serial number stamped on the Coupling name-plate must be furnished to ensure correct supply.

Shear Pin Coupling

GBM Shear Pin Coupling are used to control the rated torque. The pin shears off incase the torque of the whole coupling exceeds the rated torque.

GBM Shear Pin coupling assembly consists of Shear Pin, Shear pin plates, Bush, Ball Bearing, Ball Retainer.

GBM Shear Pin is fastened to Shear Pin Plates (along with Bush) which in turn is fastened to the sleeves of the gear couplings. One of the plates are designed to accommodate a ball bearing which gives smoother movement of the total assembly.
