Ganga kaveri has evolved good maize hybrids of different maturity groups with stay green character, high selling percent and test weight suitable to varied agro climatic zones. The Companys maize breeding programme clearly addresses the need of progressive farmers by evolving highly productive single crosses tolerant to biotic and abiotic stresses. Ganga Kaveri is simultaneously developing 3-way cross hybrids for less affordable farming community.
The Company has developed very good hybrids in grain sorghum for varied locations that are less prone to lodging and tolerant to major pests and diseases. Multi-cut varieties of sorghum Sudan grass (SSG) Hybrids have been developed with low HCN content and high digestible fodder. The SSG hybrids range includes both red and white grain colors.
The mustard breeding program was started with the objective of serving different maturity segments, various plant types and different seed colors. The company aims to identify and produce seed for high oil yield varieties with wide adaptability.
Ganga Kaveri has also initiated the breeding program for developing high yielding wheat varieties with superior grain quality and tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses. The varieties developed here have wide adaptability and can be grown an various agro climatic zones.
Ganga Kaveri cotton program cater to northern, central and southern zones of India through development of hybrids with erect / semi erect/ open plant types, with medium to big bolls, good ginning percent and fiber quality tolerance to sucking pests and diseases. The Company has development very good CLCV tolerance by screening parents and hybrids in hot spot locations. Ten transgenic cotton hybrid are development with specific adaptability to different zones.
