Demineralisation is the process of removing mineral salts from water by using the ion exchange process. With most natural water sources it is possible to use Demineralisation and produce water of a higher quality than conventional distillation.
Fluid Systems Manufacture a Wide range of custom-built Demineralised Water plant [DM Plant] in India for industrial process water applications, with inherent design to conserve water, and save costs. The DM Plants [Demineralisation Plants] are available in different sizes and materials, manually operated or fully Automatic, & ready to install & are available as standard models or custom built versions for specific needs.
A Typical two-bed Demineralised Water plant or DM Plant consists of FRP/MS Rubber lined Pressure vessels connected in series along with its internal fittings. The first unit consists of high capacity strongly acidic cation exchange resin, which converts positive ions of salt and replaces them with hydrogen ions to form respective acids, which are absorbed in next vessel by strongly basic anion exchange resin. The water obtained by this process shows conductivity less than 20 S / cm at 250 C and total dissolved solids less than 10 ppm.
Further high purity water can be achieved by Mixed Bed Deionisers, which are designed to produce high purity treated water. They can be used as polishing units after two bed DM Plant to obtain high purity water. Mixed Bed Deionisers are single column units, filled with strongly acidic cation and strongly basic anion exchange resins mixed together.
Degassifier unit is a part of a DM Plant In which, we offer a full range of degassers to suit the packaged /custom-made Demineralisation Plants [DM Plants]. Degassers when installed downstream of the cation unit removes the carbon dioxide, thereby reducing the load on the Anion unit. This results in cost savings by way of reduced chemical consumption. Standard units comprise of a tower in mild steel rubber lined / FRP construction along with a blower and transfer pump in stainless steel construction. Additional pump and blowers are offered as options.
Mixed Bed De-mineralisersMixed bed de-mineralisers are used on the downstream of the DM unit to achieve high purity levels in the treated water. We confer packaged and custom-built mixed bed de-mineralisers. These mixed bed units comprise of a single vessel with a mixture of cation and anion resins and are offered with complete service and regeneration piping, self supportive skid foundation and chemical tanks for regeneration.
Condensate PolishingA condensate polisher is a device used to filter water condensed from steam as part of the steam cycle. Our superior condensate polishing ion exchange resins excel in capturing corrosion products in the condensate stream. This polishing typically involves ion exchange technology for the removal of trace dissolved minerals and suspended matter. It is generally used as part of a power plant's condensate system and prevents premature chemical failure and deposition within the power cycle which would have resulted in loss of unit efficiency and possible mechanical damage to key generating equipment.
Fully Automatic Rapid Flow Two Bed DM PlantsFluid Systems Offer Skid Mounted, PLC Controlled Two Bed Fully Automatic Rapid DM Plants incorporating state-of-the-art counter flow ion exchange technology previously available only in large, purpose-designed plant. The operational cycle of these rapid-regeneration, packaged units is controlled by volume throughput, which is pre-programmed into the PC according to the type of feed water. The ion exchange resins are never fully exhausted ensuring optimum deionised water production at all times.
Regeneration takes just 30 minutes - after a minimum service cycle of two hours minimizing the need for both standby plant and the storage of large volumes of water. As regeneration of the cation and anion beds is simultaneous, the effluent streams are largely self-neutralising, reducing waste disposal costs and environmental impact.
We also supply DM water in bulk quantities for water needs in manufacturing and production process. We have vast experience in providing high quality DM water to industry. We have highly qualified & educated staff who understands high quality water needs. For Bulk quantity of DM water, we install a Two Bed DM Plant/ Three Bed DM Plant at the customer premises.

Anthracite literally "a type of coal", is a hard, compact variety of mineral coal that has a high luster. It has the highest carbon count and contains the fewest impurities of all coals, despite its lower calorific content.
Anthracite is the most metamorphosed type of coal (but still represents low-grade metamorphism), in which the carbon content is between 92% and 98%.
Anthracite media is hydraulically classified to reduce foreign mineral matter and to lower ash content. The water filtration media is then screened and washed to ensure suitability for water filtration purpose . Anthracite characteristically produces reliable improvements in turbidity removal, mostly due to better solids holding capacity. Additionally, low uniformity coefficient media improves flow rates
Activated Carbon for Water Purification , take the excellent coconut shell as material, processedphysical way, after high temperature steaming to make them activation. It does not contain any harmful soluble organic or inorganic matter. The activated carbon is considered superior to those obtained from other sources mainly because of small macrospores structure which renders it more effective for the adsorption of gas/ vapor and for the removal of colour and odour of compounds
Garnet is a natural minerals and not a by products of a chemical process. It is inert and non-toxic and virtually free of silica, thus excluding any danger whatsoever of silicosis hazard. Garnet has a very low dust emission.
This makes it safe for the operator , does not pollute the atmosphere and causes minimum disturbance in the vicinity and adjoin ingare as . In consequence the use of natural garnet as an abrasive has won a worldwide approval among occupational health authorities. Moreover, as Garnet is an environment friendly material , It is now gaining favor with many environment protection authorities, for the following main reasons:
Reverse osmosis is the process of forcing a solvent from a region of high solute concentration through a membrane to a region of low solute concentration by applying a pressure in excess of the osmotic pressure. This is the reverse of the normal osmosis process, which is the natural movement of solvent from an area of low solute concentration, through a membrane, to an area of high solute concentration when no external pressure is applied. The membrane here is semipermeable, meaning it allows the passage of solvent but not of solute.
To illustrate, imagine a semi permeable membrane with fresh water on one side and a concentrated aqueous solution on the other side. If normal osmosis takes place, the fresh water will cross the membrane to dilute the concentrated solution. In reverse osmosis, pressure is exerted on the side with the concentrated solution to force the water molecules across the membrane to the fresh water side.
The membranes used for reverse osmosis systems have a dense polymer barrier layer in which separation takes place. Since Reverse Osmosis does not occur naturally, it must be created by applying pressure to the high solids water in order to force it through the membrane, with pressures from 8 - 14 bar for fresh and brackish water, and 40 - 70 bar for seawater, which has around 24 bar (350 psi) natural osmotic pressure which must be overcome.
Fluid Systems RO Plants work on the Crossflow Filtration method, which takes the feed water and uses a percentage of it as a wash or reject stream, removing the solids during the filtration process.
The product flow of an RO Plant is mainly a function of temperature and pressure. System recovery (product divided by feed) is limited by the characteristics of the feed water and can be controlled through the use of recycle stream. Product quality is based on a percentage of dissolved solids fed to the membrane. There should be an economic balance between product quality and system recovery. High recoveries increase concentration of dissolved solids in the system which degrades quality, but high recoveries make the system work more efficiently and decrease waste.
Reverse Osmosis Plants do not deliver to service all of the water that is fed to them. During operation, some of the incoming water is used to wash down the membrane, and only part becomes finished product water. Purified water is referred to as product and wastewater is referred to as concentrate, or reject. The percent of water delivered as product is called the recovery, and depends upon the membrane and on total RO Plant design considerations.
The feed water, depending on its source, may contain various concentrations of suspended solids and dissolved matter. Suspended solids may consist of inorganic particles, colloidal particles and biological impurities such as microorganisms and algae. Dissolved matter may consist of highly soluble salts, such as chlorides, and sparingly soluble salts, such as carbonates, sulfates, and silica.
During the Reverse Osmosis process, the volume of feed water decreases, and the concentration of suspended particles and dissolved ions increases. Suspended particles may settle on the membrane surface, thus blocking feed channels and increasing pressure drop across the system. Sparingly soluble salts may precipitate from the concentrate stream, create scale on the membrane surface, and result in lower water permeability through the RO membranes. This process of formation of a deposited layer on a membrane surface is called membrane fouling and results in performance decline of the RO system. The objective of the feed water pretreatment process is to improve the quality of the feed water to the level which would result in reliable operation of the RO membranes. Based on the raw water quality, the pretreatment process for RO Plants may consist of all or some of the following treatment steps:
Based on the Output water quality required, the post treatment process for Reverse Osmosis Plants may consist of all or some of the following treatment steps

Fluid Systems, with over 15 years experience in the industry, offer a wide variety of pressure boosting systems standard and custom build to your specifications.
The Pressure boosting systems consists of automatic pressure controlled Pumps and a Bladder tank with precharged air. The water is pumped in this tank, which compresses it and pressurizes the bladder, which in turn maintains the desired pressure within the whole system. This automatic system requires no manual intervention and is built for low maintenance.
For higher water requirements custom build systems are available with variable speed drives. High fidelity pressure sensors sense the minutest water quantity drawn and the variable speed drive pump delivers the demanded quantity at a preset pressure. Complete and efficient management of water pressure is achieved with lower operation costs.
Constant Pressure is maintained by the VFD in a multi pump system in the same manner as single pump system. The VFD can use up to four pumps to maintain constant pressure. However as the first pump reaches maximum speed; increased demand will cause the pressure drop as the pump runs down its curve. In single pump system, the pump would shutdown at run out, while In the multi pump system, the pressure drop causes the second pump to come online.
