the crimped fin tubes also known as spirally tension wound finned tubes is a very widely used finned tube type for a various number of applications.

as the name suggests the manufacturing of crimped finned tube (spiral tension wound fin tube) is done by tension winding of fin material on the base tube. the base tip of the fin strip is pre formed on a set of performing rollers.

this pre forming allows for a wider base and hence contact area is increased. it also enables more turbulence for the air flowing over the finned tube thereby increasing heat transfer efficiency. the ends of fins are tag welded to secure its bond on the base.

this finning takes place on dedicated specially designed finning machines with auto feed mechanism. this process allows a very long length of tubes to be finned.

it finds application in various industries ranging from driers, radiators, heaters etc and are used in many industries like food, chemical, oil cooling etc.

The G FIN TUBEis also known asEmbedded Fin Tube.This type of fin tube widely finds acceptance where the requirement is for higher operating temperature and relatively lower corrosive atmosphere

The fins are manufactured by embedding the fin strip into a groove formed on the base tube. The Fin is allowed to be placed in the groove and then the backfilling of the groove is carried out to ensure firm adherence of the fins to the base tubes. Because of the process this type of Fin Tube is also known as G Fin tubeorGrooved Fin Tube.

The grooving, fin stack inserting and the backfilling processes are carried put simultaneously as continuous operation. Because of the back filling procedure the bond between the Fin material and the Base tube is one of the best. This ensures optimum Heat Transfer.

After cooler: Water or moisture is not desirable in the transmission lines of an air compression system. Water carried through the lines washes away lubricating oil from the tools the compressed air is running. This causes the tools to operate sluggishly & increases the need for maintenance. The effect is compounded in high speed tools, where wearing surfaces are limited in size & excessive wear reduces efficiency by creating air leakage. Further problem results from the decrease of temperature caused by sudden expansion of air at the end. This low temperature creates condensation, which freezes around port and valves & impairs efficiency. These conditions can be minimized by removing the moisture from the air directly after compression, before the air enters the distribution system. The compressed air discharged from compressor is hot. Compressed air at these temperatures contains large quantities of water in vapor form. As the compressed air cools this water vapor condenses into a liquid form. As an example if an after cooler is not used, a 200 scfm compressor operating at 100 psig introduces 45 gallons of water into the compressed air system each day. The G FIN TUBEis also known asEmbedded Fin Tube.This type of fin tube widely finds acceptance where the requirement is for higher operating temperature and relatively lower corrosive atmosphere

The fins are manufactured by embedding the fin strip into a groove formed on the base tube. The Fin is allowed to be placed in the groove and then the backfilling of the groove is carried out to ensure firm adherence of the fins to the base tubes. Because of the process this type of Fin Tube is also known as G Fin tubeorGrooved Fin Tube.

The grooving, fin stack inserting and the backfilling processes are carried put simultaneously as continuous operation. Because of the back filling procedure the bond between the Fin material and the Base tube is one of the best. This ensures optimum Heat Transfer.

As the name suggests, in this type of Fin Tube the finning is a Spirally Wound.

After cooler: Water or moisture is not desirable in the transmission lines of an air compression system. Water carried through the lines washes away lubricating oil from the tools the compressed air is running. This causes the tools to operate sluggishly & increases the need for maintenance. The effect is compounded in high speed tools, where wearing surfaces are limited in size & excessive wear reduces efficiency by creating air leakage. Further problem results from the decrease of temperature caused by sudden expansion of air at the end. This low temperature creates condensation, which freezes around port and valves & impairs efficiency. These conditions can be minimized by removing the moisture from the air directly after compression, before the air enters the distribution system. The compressed air discharged from compressor is hot. Compressed air at these temperatures contains large quantities of water in vapor form. As the compressed air cools this water vapor condenses into a liquid form. As an example if an after cooler is not used, a 200 scfm compressor operating at 100 psig introduces 45 gallons of water into the compressed air system each day.
