APPLICATIONS
Anti Explosive Decompression (AED) Or Rapid Gas Decompression (RGD) is a phenomenon that can occur with a rubber sealing device when large pressure gradients exist between its interior and exterior sections. A very common example is when an elastomeric seal such as an O-Ring is exposed to high pressure gas. The gas is ultimately absorbed by the elastomer causing the elastomer to swell. This type of swelling may not be necessarily destructive to the O-Ring, however, if the system pressure on the O-Ring is rapidly reduced, the gas that had been absorbed will rapidly expand within the O-Ring causing it to rupture and fail catastrophically. One of the few common gasses where these elastomers are used for are Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) which is a colorless chalcogen hydride gas with the characteristic foul odor of rotten eggs. It is very poisonous, corrosive, and flammable.
Elastomeric Compound Chart for the Oil and Gas IndustryThe AED/RGD Resistant compounds listed in the Chart below have all been independently tested. The specific NORSOK M-710 / ISO 23936, NACE TM0297, API6A and TOTAL GS EP PVV 142, standards that each compound meets are identified within the table.
We supply any size of O-Rings in Metric, Imperial, Standard & AS568 sizes and also manufacture custom size O-rings on order in wide range of materials : Nitrile (NBR), Viton (FKM), Silicone (VMQ), Neoprene (CR), Ethylene-propylene (EPM/EPDM), Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).
O-Rings is one of most popular sealing product and versatile seal due to its simple shape, O-Rings seals are circular rings of various cross sectional configurations installed in a gland to close off a passageway and prevent escape or loss of a fluid or gas and to provide protection against compression or wear in moving parts. It is the most basic form of sealing between two surfaces , O-Rings are successfully used in static as well as dynamic applications.
O-Rings is specified by three of its features: O-Rings dimensions, O-Rings material, and O-Rings hardness. Material and hardness specify the elastomeric compound and Shore A (durometer) hardness of the compound that is used to manufacture the o-rings. O-Rings dimensions are described by stating its inside diameter (I.D.) and its cross-section. Designing for o-rings depends on three major and interrelated variables: the operating conditions or environment the seal will experience, the gland geometry into which the seal will be installed.
O-Rings is also spelled as O'ring, "O"ring or oring. Standard O-Rings are available in various materials, sizes in metric and imperial international standards such as as AS568 , DIN ISO 3601 and JIS sizes , thus providing the quality assurance required to meet the world's most demanding applications of O-Rings
Back-up Rings are used in conjunction with O-rings in both static and dynamic sealing applications, PTFE Back-up Rings are used to prevent the O-ring from entering the clearance gap, when high pressures are exerted on the O-ring, its soft rubber material can be forced into the clearance gap causing the O-ring to extrude, PTFE Back-up rings keep the O-ring material from flowing into the gap which will prevent premature failure. PTFE Back-up Rings are made in single turn "scarf cut", Spiral "multi-turn", and solid "uncut"
Back-up Rings and PTFE products including Piston Rings, Washer, O-Ring, V-Seals, Balls, Valve Seats, Wipers, Wear Rings, Bearing , Rod Guide and custom parts in wide variety of polymer products in PTFE, PTFE Filled Compounds and many combinations of high-performance materials ideally suited for use in original equipment and industrial maintenance
FITCO BEARING RINGS IS MAINLY USED ON PISTON RODS, IT PROVIDES GUIDING & BEARING SURFACES BETWEEN ROD AND HOUSING AND PREVENTS METAL TO METAL CONTACT BETWEEN THEM.
PTFE O Rings are popular for use in axial static faces or flange applications which require a chemically resistant and non-compressible material and low-friction characteristics of PTFE. Its flow characteristics under stress, and lack of elasticity, are often a disadvantage in PTFE orings.
Turcite Wear Rings has function of a hydraulic wear ring is to guide the piston and piston rod of a hydraulic cylinder, absorbing transverse forces. At the same time, it prevents metal-to-metal contact, optimizing the performance of the sealing system.
