The Filtek Centrifugal Oil Cleaner model FT200/400/600 are widely used on marine generators on ships and on main engines of tugboats, supply ships, fishing trawlers etc as a very effective Bypass lube oil filtration unit. The centrifuge is driven by the lube oil pressure of the engine to clean the oil down to 1 micron level. This cleanable unit requires no consumables and is very effective in increasing the oil drain intervals as well as the time between engine overhauls. The inlet to the centrifuge is taken from the lube oil pump/cooler and the oil is drained back to the tank through the crankcase cover under gravity.

Applications

Quench oil serves two primary functions. It facilitates hardening of steel by controlling heat transfer during quenching, and it enhances wetting of steel during quenching to minimize the formation of undesirable thermal and transformational gradients which may lead to increased distortion and cracking. Heat transfer in this region is exponentially dependent on the oils viscosity, which will vary with the degree of oil decomposition. Oil degradation is often accompanied by sludge and varnish formation. The presence of sludge may cause non-uniform heat transfer, increased thermal gradients Another source of non-uniform heat transfer is quench oil contamination due to water.

The Filtek Centrifugal Oil Cleaner model CK600 is a self contained skid powered by an 80 LPM pump+motor to remove contamination of quenching oils thereby reducing viscosity and helping in effective heat transfer. This will provide correct hardening of jobs and reduce rejections. The Centrifuge being a cleanable unit has no consumable parts.

The inlet to the centrifuge is taken from the fluid tank and drained back to the tank through the Filtek Centrifuge.

The centrifuge is driven by the lube oil pressure of the engine to clean the oil down to 1 micron level. Selection of Filtek Centrifuge model is based on the oil sump capacity of the engine.

Applications

Filtek FT Centrifuges are used successfully on Bio Diesel Manufacturing Systems for fine filtration of biodiesel. All contamination as well as wax and gummy insolubles are effectively removed
