The Filtek Centrifugal Oil Cleaner model CK600 is a self contained skid powered by an 80 LPM pump+motor to clean the coolant of wire and cable drawing machines and is extremely effective in removing the wear metal and dust contamination which is removed when the wire is drawn from blocks of Copper or Aluminum. The wire while being drawn through the die, heats up the die and tool which is cooled by the coolant. As more tiny wear metal particles get into the coolant, the viscosity increases and affects heat transfer adversely. The Centrifuge is capable of removing these tiny particles to maintain the viscosity of the coolant and have effective heat transfer reducing the number of wire breakages, The Centrifuge being a cleanable unit has no consumable parts and replaces the conventional paper band filter.
The inlet to the centrifuge is taken from the oil tank and the oil is drained back to the tank under gravity.

The Filtek Centrifugal Oil Cleaner is used as an added bypass filter in conjunction with the existing lube oil filter element. Smaller sized particles ranging between 1 micron and 5 microns are removed by the centrifuge which help increase the engine life and oil life. The Centrifuge being a cleanable unit has no consumable parts. Since the safety Cut off valve is provided to operate at 1.8 BAR there is no fear of oil starvation of the engine. Additionally pressure drop of oil pressure is less than 0.2 BAR which is negligible.
The inlet to the centrifuge is taken from the oil filter assembly and the oil is drained back to the engine through the modified tappet cover fitted with the filtek Centrifuge.

With increasing frequency, utility owners and operators are experiencing a significantly increased need for oil handling and treatment requirement.Any boiler's capability to burn commercial grades of Heavy Fuel Oil is dependent on the fuel characteristics and the level of contaminants in the fuel.As fuel grade and quality decrease, the resultant impact on the burners operating reliability and economics will be strongly influenced by the ability of fuel handling systems available to provide properly treated fuel.Insolubles in the Thermic fluid can cause havoc with the performance of the system, even leading to choking of the complete system.This is one of the major reasons for discontinuing the use of Thermic fluid - the presence of percentage insolubles of more than 1%.
Problems with heavy fuel oil combustionMaximum particle size going into the system for combustion would be 125 microns, which would be the maximum for a 120 mesh filter can screen. The particles below 125 micron are the main cause of wear of burner nozzles in, thus causing decrease in combustion efficiency.Analysis shows that a maximum percentage of impurities in sediments are in the range of 0.25 to 100 microns, which is way below the capacity of any normal mesh filtration system.Due to routine maintenance required for cleaning, large number of man hours spent on this activity.Wastage of dirty oil from strainers every time filter is cleaned - this is a direct loss of expensive furnace oil.Use of diesel is required for cleaning filter elements.Nozzle failures arising from improper oil quality. Frequent pump failures as a result of high wear and tear.
