For determining the absorptive capacity of paper by measuring the amount of fluid (aquesous or non aquesous, fluids, oil varnishes) absorbed by the paper surface. Fibretec's permeability tester is accurate on a large range of permeabilities. It is widely used for testing paper, paper machine forming fabrics, press felts & dryer fabrics and filter papers. The accuracy of tester is based on the large flow of outlet area (10cm2) of the measuring head. The orifice disc with 6 different hole diameters gives a wide range of permeability from 150 - 16000 m3/hm2. To measure the Degree of curl when one side of the paper sample exposed to water. The maximum curvature is proportional to that produced when printing paper is in use. Moreover, by measuring the time required till curvature become maximum, a scale is obtained as curl size degree which enables to compare with the relative degree of sizing.

APPLICABLE STANDARD:
The ink rub tester is designed to determine the quality of adhesion and scuff resistance of ink to paper surfaces. Dry and wet rub can be performed on the ink rub tester. The method of the preparation is that a 2 lb or 4 lb weight with a clean white board is swept across the test piece for a set number of times, then closely examined. The rate of rubbing (no. of strokes) can be set by the pointer as desired. Abrasion speed approx. 43 cpm, arc motion approx.21/4 inch, counter 0 to 9999 cpm.
The falling dart impact tester covers your determination of the energy that causes Polyethylene film to fail under specified conditions, with the impact of the free falling dart. This energy is expressed in terms of weight of the dart falling from a specified height, which would result in 50% failure of specimen tested.
