Description

This is the most commonly used fastener in India. In common parlance also known as anchor or anchor fastener else also referred to as Hit anchor.

This anchor is made of carbon steel and the pin has been heat treated and is also zinc plated so as to withstand unusual toughness and pressure and avoids corrosion.

The anchor is threaded at the top where the pin is inserted. The other end of the anchor has four equally spaced lots for a portion of its length, with ribs extending the circumference of the anchor for a portion of its length.

Chemical or resin anchors are generic terms relating to steel studs, bolts and anchorages which are bonded into a substrate, usually masonry and concrete, using a resin based adhesive system. Ideally suited for high load applications, in virtually all cases the resulting bond is stronger than the base material itself and as the system is based on chemical adhesion, no load stress is imparted to the base material as with expansion type anchors and are therefore ideal for close to edge fixing, reduced centre and group anchoring and use in concrete of unknown quality or low compressive strength. Although there are many differing variations and delivery systems in the market, all systems operate using the same basic principle with the base resin, requiring the introduction, by mixing, of a second component to begin the chemical curing process, hence the term chemical anchor.

This particular anchor consists of a zinc plated steel tubular expansion shield. The shield has four equally spaced slots for a portion of its length. The bottom part of the shield is knurled. The shield has a smooth flangeless top that allows it to install either through flush or countersunk. The bottom lip of the shield is tapered to allow maximum depth wherever it needs to be installed. It is suitable for all screws or threaded bolts and the low setting depth reduces drilling time and facilities cost effective mounting.
