Solar Air Coolers are similar to conventional air coolers but the only difference being that they run on DC Power produced directly from the Solar Panels or from a battery.

During daytime whenever sufficient sunlight is available the DC Current produced by the Solar panel directly powers the Air Cooler. In cases of low Sunshine & during the night times a battery backup is required to run the Cooler. It is a very highly efficient cooler that uses water to perform the cooling function. The Solar Powered Air Dryer is new and innovative technology basing on blending Solar Thermal and Solar Photovoltaic Technologies.

The Solar radiation passes through the transparent glass window, located on the top of the cabinet, which is oriented to south with a tilt angle equal to the latitude to collect maximum radiation. The cabinet is made of anti-corrosive material and of modular nature to meet the varying sizes and loading capacities of products, ranging from 8 to 50 kgs and above.

The ambient air enters from the bottom of the cabinet and gets heated up with Solar radiation incident from the top window. The heat energy is trapped in the cabinet and heats up the air. As a result the wavelength of solar radiation shifts to infrared region, causing green house effect.

The hot air passes through the trays, carries the moisture from the product to the space below the glass. Then, Solar Photovoltaic fans exhausts this air containing moisture. The forced air circulation r in the cabinet is achieved through this solar fan. The electrical heaters are provided as standby to meet any exigencies on non-sunny days.
