double girder crane consists of two bridge girders supported on two end trucks. The trolley runs on rails on the top of the bridge girders. Double girder cranes are faster, with maximum bridge speeds, trolley speeds and hoist speeds. They are useful cranes for a variety of usage ranging from infrequent, intermittent use to continuous operation.
they can lift up to 100 tons of weight and can be utilized at any capacity where extreme high hook lift is required, as hook can be pulled up between the girders. They are highly suitable; where the crane needs to be fitted with walkways, crane lights, cabs, magnet cable reels or any other special equipment.
single girder crane consist of single bridge girder supported on two end trucks. It has a trolley hoist mechanism that runs on the bottom flange of the bridge girder. Single girder bridge cranes generally have a maximum span between 6 to15 meters with a maximum lift of 5-15 meters.
they are used for light to moderate service and are cost effective to use as a standby crane (not frequently used). Total cost of single girder cranes on crane components, runway structure and building is low.
pillar mounted jib crane is designed as a self-supporting unit, mounted either on floor or foundation. This helps withstanding bending stress without boom deflection.
the pipe is reinforced with heavy base gussets mounted on heavy base plates and the jib head is constructed of two heavy side plates with reinforced plates.
Gantry cranes are same as the regular overhead cranes except that the bridge for carrying the trolley is rigidly supported on two or more legs running on fixed rails or other runway.
These legs eliminate supporting runway and columns and connect end trucks which run on a rail, either embedded in or laid on top of the floor.
