Level Transmitter uses guided wave radar (GWR) technology and can measure the level of a wide range of liquid products on a large variety of installations within the stated pressure and temperature range. It can be deployed at blending tanks, distillation columns, process tanks, separators, solid silos (inventory) and storage tanks. It does not require calibration or commissioning upon installation, and can measure liquid interface with or without an air gap.
Additionally, the level meter can measure the level and interface simultaneously, and is capable of measuring media with a dielectric constant of 1.4 or greater. A variety of rigid and flexible probes allow measurement in silos and tanks up to 50 m (164 ft) high.
Non-Contact Radar Level Meter measures distance, level, volume and mass. Based on FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) technology, it provides a more stable measurement than pulse radar and is well suited for agitated process conditions and the most demanding applications.
Non-Contact Radar Level Meter can measure the level of a wide range of liquid or granular products on a large variety of installations, including LPG and LNG. The level meter does not require calibration or commissioning when installed and can be applied in agitated process conditions and agitated vessels. The product is available in two versions; the RM70 has its electronics designed specifically for liquids, while the RM60 is meant for powders or granulates.
How Does It Work?Based on an FMCW radar signal, the level meter transmits a high frequency signal which increases linearly during the measurement phase. The signal is emitted, reflected on the measuring surface and received with a time delay, t (t=2d/c, where d is the distance to the product surface and c is the speed of light in the gas above the product). For further signal processing, the difference is calculated from the actual transmission frequency and the received frequency and is directly proportional to the distance.
The level meter comes with an optional second current output that can be used for displaying measurements such as volume. In addition, it offers a wide variety of open (horn) and closed (drop) antenna configurations that can easily be interchanged by the user.

The rugged all UPVC construction is ideal for exposed site applications such as reservoirs, rivers, remote works, and waste water and effluent treatment plants. Transmitters are factory sealed (IP68) for use in wet-wells and sumps up to 39 ft. (12 m) deep.
