Paddle-Wheel Turbine Flowmeter With Indicator Technical Description The principle of operation of this unit is the generation of a angular frequency on a paddle wheel. The flow is deflected by a nozzle onto the paddle wheel, there the kinetic energy is converted into angular motion. The angular frequency is transmitted to an analysis unit, without contact, by a ring magnet and converted there into an analogue voltage signal. This voltage signal corresponds to the actual flow rate and is displayed on a digital display. The operating area of the unit is fitted with a transparent cover and as a result can be clearly seen.
Bicycle Wheel Gyroscope A bicycle wheel of smaller dia Is provided with two handlesand rubber tyre on the rim gives sufficient speed todemonstrate the various interesting and surprising effectssuch as vertical rotation and precession force required tochange the axis of spin.

Electromagnetic Flowmeter Technical Description The Magnetic-Inductive Flowmeter exploits Faraday's induction law. This law states that a conductor in motion in a magnetic field produces a voltage. In this experimental set-up the conductor in motion is the water, the magnetic field in the area through which the flow passes is generated by a switched, d.c. changing polarity. The voltage induced in the magnetic field is proportional to the flow rate and is acquired using 2 insulated electrodes. This measuring device is used predominantly in industry and is very precise.
