The aggregate crushing value provides a relative measure of the resistance of an aggregate to crushing under a gradually applied compressive load. The oven dried and accurately weighed aggregates are subjected to crushing test on compression testing machine and weight of the resultant fines passing the specified IS sieve to the total weight of the sample expressed a s a percentage is defined as Aggregate Crushing Value. The apparatus is available in three size 75mm dia for 1/8 to size aggregate, 150mm dia for 3/8 to aggregate (standard) and 300mm dia for 1 to 2 aggregate.
General Description & Specification :Consists of Case hardened Mild steel cylindrical container of 150mm dia + 0.5mm x 130mm to 140mm high with base plate 200 to 230mm square x 6mm thick. A plunger of 148mm + 0.5mm dia x 100 to 115mm high. All parts directly coming in to contact with the specimen during the test are made of mild steel duly case hardened. Supplied complete with tamping rod, 16mm dia x 600mm long, one end rounded.

The compaction factor is defined as the ratio of the mass of the concrete compacted in the compaction factor apparatus to the mass of the fully compacted concrete. It involves dropping a volume of concrete from one hopper to another and measuring the volume of concrete in the final hopper to that of a fully compacted volume. The results of the compaction factor test can be correlated to slump, although the relationship is not linear. This test is difficult to run in the field and is not practical for large aggregates (over 1 inch) Compared to the slump test, the apparatus is bulky and a balance is required to perform measurements.
General Descripation & Specifications
TThe apparatus, consist of a rigid frame that supports two conical hoppers vertically aligned above each other and mounted above a cylinder. The top hopper is slightly larger than the bottom hopper, while the cylinder is smaller in volume than both hoppers. To perform the test, the top hopper is filled with concrete but not compacted. The door on the bottom of the top hopper is opened and the concrete is allowed to drop into the lower hopper. Once all of the concrete has fallen from the top hopper, the door on the lower hopper is opened to allow the concrete to fall to the bottom cylinder. The excess concrete is carefully struck off the top of the cylinder and the mass of the concrete in the cylinder is recorded. This mass is compared to the mass of fully compacted concrete in the same cylinder achieved with hand rodding or vibration. Complete with trowel and tamping bar 0-60 cms long X 16mm dia.

Equipments :The oldest, most widely used test for determining workability. This test is used to determine the workability of fresh concrete, which would normally be undertaken at the point of delivery to ensure the concrete, is of adequate consistency for placement. The test is applicable to concrete of medium workability.
The device is a hollow cone-shaped mould. The mold is filled in three layers of each volume. Each layer is rodded with a 16mm steel rod 25 times. The mould is then lifted away and the change in the height of the concrete is measured against the mould. The slump test is a measure of the resistance of concrete to flow under it own weight.
The apparatus comprise of a slump cone with handles made of mild steel sheet, a chrome plated steel tamping rod of 16 mm diameter X 600 mm long, rounded off at one end, with a scale marked on it and a steel base plate with a carrying handle.
The mould for the test specimen will be in the form of frustum of a cone having the following internal dimensions as follows.
The Cone is constructed of metal of at least 1.6 mm thickness and the top and bottom are open and at right angles to the axis of the cone. It is a motor driven mechanical compactor useful for soil compaction into 100mm or 150mm dia moulds. Two sets of rammers are provided, one of 2.6kg. And the other of 4.89 kg arranged for 310mm and 450mm fall respectively. For compaction soil into 150mm dia moulds, 100mm face dia rammers having weight of 4.89Kg is used. Where as for 100mm dia moulds, they are of 50mm dia. The rammer assembly is provided with a ratchet and pawl arrangement to lift it from the top of the soil layer. When the rammer reaches the required height the pawl release the rammer, which falls freely on soil surface. The release mechanism is connected by an arm moving up and down which is connected to a reduction gear coupled to the motor through another arm. An automatic blow counter fitted to the compactor is used to set the number of blows. The base plate of the specimen mould is to be fitted to the rotating base plate of the instrument which makes 1/5th revolution per operation. Operation on 230 volts, 50 cycles, single phase, A.C. supply, Moulds are to be ordered separately.

Used for tablets to determine the durability at the time of production. A transparent plastic persperx drum with cover also a shaped radial fixed blade which carries the tablets alongwith it upto the central height and lets them off while the drum is rotating, thus the tablet rub against each other without any hard impact. The drum rotates at a fix speed of 30 RPM by a geared motor. The rotation period is determined by a Electric Timer. Tablets are weighed before and after the test and the difference in weight for a perticular time period indicating the rate of abrasion. Complete with Electric Timer with neon indicators fitted on a panel.
