Catla catla (syn. Cyprinus catla; Gibelion catla), also known as Indian carp, is the only member of the genus Catla, of the carp family Cyprinidae. Frozen Catla Fish is a fish with a large protruding lower jaw. It is commonly found in rivers and lakes in northern India, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Pakistan. In India Frozen Catla Fish is commonly known as the Bhakur. In Assam it is known as Bhakua or Bahu or Dhekera. Frozen Catla Fish reaches a maximum length of 1.83 m (6.0 ft) and a weight of about 110 kg (240 lb).
