S-PRO 4000is a digital, microprocessor-based sub-harmonic protection system that provides comprehensive sub-harmonic protection for transmission lines at any voltage level, particularly those with serial compensation and interconnected with wind farms. Use the S-PRO Sub-Harmonic Protection Relay for monitoring and protection of uncontrolled sub-harmonics, ensuring a reliable operation of the power grid.
Undamped sub-harmonic current oscillations created by series capacitors interacting with the wind system can cause serious damage to wind turbine controllers and also to conventional generators. The wind turbine's own mechanical system interactions (tower-to-blade) can also generate sub-harmonics, which are detrimental to induction generators, transformers, and may cause resonance at the point of common coupling in the electrical grid.
The S-PRO 4000 relay detects these sub harmonic oscillations and allows the utility to monitor and protect the power system by isolating the healthy grid from sub-harmonic generation sources.

ARGUS 7is a combined check and system synchronising relay which can automatically select check or system synchronise from measurements of the relative phase angles between line and bus voltages. The relay will prevent closure of the circuit breaker if either the phase angle, slip frequency or the voltage magnitude of the incoming and running voltages fall outside prescribed limits.
If the parameters are within the limits the relay will issue an output which can be used to close the circuit breaker directly or in conjunction with an autoreclose scheme. Both the check and system synchronise functions have independent settings and blocking features. The relay includes split system detection with a variable time delay, which can be used for blocking purposes within delayed autoreclose schemes.
Synchronising bypass logic is provided to connect a dead line or bus to a live line or bus. For manual synchronising the relay includes a circuit breaker close guard feature which is used to prevent the control switch being held closed during a synchronising operation. This feature is implemented using internal logic and removes the need for an external relay.
Application
the relay is suitable up to four shots. It consists of four cards viz.front fascia, power supply status input & output card and micro controller card are housed in a compact 3n non draw-out case. |
ARGUS 8range of numerical voltage and frequency relays have the power and flexibility of microprocessor technology, giving a wide range of settings which are supplemented by advanced features such as metering, data storage and Fibre-Optic communications. Supervisory and self-monitoring features give added confidence to the user as well as reduced maintenance and down time. A menu-based interface gives user friendly access to relay settings, meters and operational data

MVT 181is a numerical true RMS single pole relay consists of two elements. Each element can be selected for under voltage function or over voltage function or switched off. The characteristics setting, voltage setting and time multiplier setting are independently settable for each element and the voltage setting is in terms of voltage. Hence this relay can be used as a two stage under voltage or two stage over voltage protection. |
MBT 191relay can be connected either in phase -phase or phase - neutral PT secondary circuit. Nominal voltage which is settable (50 -150 V) in the relay could be chosen according to the connection. And the nominal frequency is settable either as 50 or 60 HZ.
Two Elements:MBT 191 relay consists of two elements. Each element can be independently put off or set to a wide range of overfluxing setting (b1 and b2). Both elements are having definite time characteristics and four types of inverse characteristics. Each element is provided with two numbers of ^N/O^ contacts independent to each other. Both elements can be selected appropriately to give two stages of protection for the equipment. In addition to these two elements, starting function of these elements are indicated by a starter LED and a changeover contact is available for annunciation.
Multiple Characteristics:Both elements are provided with definite time characteristics (DTL) and four types of inverse characteristics.
Cooling Time Delay:This relay also has resetting time feature. After trip occurs due to over fluxing, till the resetting time delay (which is settable in the relay) the starter indication will be on and the relay cannot be reset. Only after resetting the relay the breaker has to be closed again. This feature gives enough cooling time, which is necessary to cool the equipment when any over-excitation occurs and before it is restored again into the operation.

each pole of the relay is phase segregated and operates independently via its level detector and interface area. The provision of the interface area allows for the factory fitting of output relays to the customer's requirements. With this flexibility the interface area relays can be manufactured with up to 9 change-over contacts, connected as phase segregated groups of three, or as three phase outputs. The standard arrangement is with 4 normally open output contacts.
each level detector initiates a time delay, set by the user, which delays operation of the output relay. This can be set to zero for instantaneous operation.

MDDARelay consists of a power supply unit, a timer unit and an attracted armature auxiliary relay. Resistor and Zener diode combination of the power supply unit provides low voltage stabilised DC supply to the static timer circuit. Non-linear resistors are used in the power supply unit for surge suppression.
The timer unit consists of a timer circuit and a thumb wheel switch. The thumb wheel switch mounted on the name plate of the relay provides precise and high resolution time setting. The timer unit operates a reed relay which in turn energises an attracted armature auxiliary relay. This auxiliary relay is provided to achieve higher contact rating and flag indication, if required. MDDA can be provided either as a delay on pick up relay or as a delay on drop-off relay.
A normally open contact is used for initiating time delay on pick up relay and output element gets energised after the set time delay. In the case of delay on drop off relay, the output element is normally energised and with the normally closed initiating contact opening out, the output elements gets de-energised after the set time delay.
The relay comprises an attracted armature element fed via a rectifier and series resistor. It can be provided with either a fixed setting, or variable settings using a plug bridge. It has a minimum withstand of rated voltage continuously. |
It consists of a low impedence coil, metal rectifier and load resistance in each phase. During normal condition the relay coil is shorted with the fuse. Once the fuse blows, current flows through the relay and it operates. The load resistance 1K will come into picture when the system is lightly loaded. |
The single-phase overvoltage relay basically comprises a tapped input transformer fitted with a plug-bridge, a potentiometer, a level-detector and a dry-reed repeat element. When the relay setting is exceeded, the level detector triggers and so energizes the repeat element.
The single-phase undervoltage relay is similar to the above but is maintained operated and .drops off. when the monitored voltage falls below the relay setting. The three-phase relays comprise of three of the above elements.
RHO 3is used for protection and management of medium and large motors and driven equipmentIt is Ideally suited for pumps, conveyors, compressors, fans etc. |
