Butyl Rubber is a co-polymer of Isobutylene with Isoprene. They have excellent di-electric properties and low permeability to air and other gases. As such they are very versatile for electrical and marine applications. Due to its low resilience, they are ideal for vibration damping and shock absorbing application but offer moderate resistance to abrasion and compression set.

 

Butyl Rubber Sheets have a wide working temperature range of -45°C to +150°C. They have very good weathering resistance as well as moderate resistance to petroleum based fluids. It has excellent resistance to ozone, oxidation, and sunlight. It is not recommended for the use in contact with petroleum oils and fluids.
