Ratings : Motors are rated for continuous duty at an ambient of 40o C and site altitudes of up to 1000 m above sea level Voltage and Frequency : Motors are designed for 415±6% Volts, 3 phase 50 Hz ±3% supply. Motors with different voltage (110, 220, 380, 400, 525 etc)and frequency (60 Hz) are available on request. Enclosure : Motors have IP 55 degree of protection as a standard feature This degree of protection conforms to IS : 4691. Motor Frame : Motors are supplied in robust and rugged cast iron frame with integral feet from 63 to 200. However, motors can be supplied in die cast aluminum body with integral feet from frame size 63, 71, 80, 90, 100, 112. Insulation : Motors are provided with class 'B/F' insulation as standard feature. This degree of protection conforms to IS: 4691. Winding Protection : Embedded of PTC thermistors in the stator winding is feasible on request. Paint : Standard paint is Suitable for tropical conditions. However, special paint is available on request. Types Of Construction : Standard motors with single shaft extension are for horizontal foot mounting (B3 as per IS: 1231). Other types of construction like double shaft extension, flange mounting (B5 as per IS: 2223), face mounting (B14 as per IS: 2253) available on request. Cooling and Ventilation : Type of cooling is as per IS: 6362. All TEFC motors are having an external centrifugal fan, mounted on non-driving end shaft. Noise : Motors are designed and produced for low noise levels. Our stator stacking system eliminates electromagnetic noise caused by loose stamping. All rotors are balanced on electronic dynamic balancing machine. Driving shaft & bearing seats are ground finished to close limits resulting in vibration free running. Terminal Box : Standard location of the terminal box is on the left side of the housing: looking from the driving end. (Except in frame size 200L, Where terminal box is located on the top of the housing) Terminal box can be given on the right side of the housing if required. Terminal box is on the top in aluminum die cast housing in frame size 63, 71, 80, 90, 100, 112. Bearings & Lubricants : All the motors are supplied with C3 clearance ball bearings with lithium base grease at the time of assembly. However, motors can be supplied with pre lubricated sealed bearings, if required. Earthing : All motors are provided with minimum 2 earthing terminals. ''Delta' brake motors are offered for various applications, requiring almost instantaneous stopping of the driven load. These motors are offered in frame sizes 63 to 200. Their operation is of 'fail safe' type i.e. The brake is applied, when, power to the motor is switched off or power failure occurs.

They conform to IS: 325 - for three phase induction motor and IS: 4722 for rotating electrical machines. The size of motor is governed by the number of start/stops per hours.

Construction : A Brake Motor is an integral combination of an A.C. induction motor and a disc type, fail safe, electromagnetic brake unit. These motors are foot, flange or face mounted or combination of any two. Dimensions are of squirrel cage types are as per IS: 1231 (for foot mounting), IS: 2223 (for flange mounting), IS: 2253 (For Face Mounting) and enclosure is either totally enclosed fan cooled (TEFC) or Totally enclosed surface cool (TESC) with degree of protection IP54, IP55 as per IS: 4691. It consists of the following

• A.C. High Starting Torque Sq. Cage Induction Motor
• A.C. or D.C. fail safe brake mounted on the non-driving end shield

Operation : Under no power condition Brake springs keep the Brake liner which is made out of cork material, pressed against stationery disc of the Brake. This brake liners are mounted on a disc engaged with a square block or a geared pinion, mounted on the shaft, thereby prevents rotor shaft rotation. When power is switched on, the brake coil gets energized. It instantly attracts armature disc by overcoming the spring force. This action results in releasing of the brake allowing the rotor to rotate freely. Special Features

• Being simple and rugged-in construction, these motors need very little maintenance. In the rare event of failure, repair is simple and easy.
• No separate supply is necessary for brake coil energisation; because the brake coil/s is/are working on A.C. or on D.C. and their supply leads are directly connected to the motor terminals. In case of D.C. Fail safe brake armature coil is energized through rectifier unit which converts A.C. supply in to require D.C. supply.
• Special brake liner is used, which ensures that, the braking torque Value remains quite stable throughout the use. Compensation for liner wear is easily done by increasing the spring tension and adjusting the air gap. The design of brake motor facilitates a very easy replacement of armature disc and brake liner assembly.
• For crane and hoist duty applications Brake Motors are offered with special rotors. These rotors are especially suited for S3 and S4 duty normally encountered in hoist and crane applications.

Voltage & Frequency : Motors are designed for std. 230±6% Volts, 50 Hz±3% supply. Motors with different voltage (110 Volts) and 60 Hz frequency are available on request. Motor Frame : 0.25 hp to 1 hp motors are normally supplied in M.S. sheet metal fabricated body (Frame size B56) with screen protected end shields. However, the above motors can be supplied in Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled (TEFC) body, if required. Above 1 hp to 3 hp the motors are generally supplied in TEFC C.I. body of IS 100, 112, 132 frame. However, where weight is the main criteria full range of motors can be supplied in M.S. sheet metal fabricated body or in Aluminum body also. Mountings : Foot mounted, Flange mounted or combination of both. Bearings & Lubrication : All the motors are supplied with C3 clearance ball bearings. Bearing housings are so designed that grease is retained in housing and are adequately protected against penetration of dust, dirt and damp. All bearings are fully charged with lithium base grease at the time of assembly and no further lubrication is required for two years normal running. However, motors are also available with pre lubricated sealed bearings. Electronic Starting Switch : The specially designed terminal plate molded with electronic starting switch is incorporated in all our single phase motors. This electronic starting switch constantly monitors voltage, current and speed of the motor. It also monitors load condition.
