Specifications :
Power requirement at duty point can be worked out by multiplying the duty point pressure with unit hp.& adding no Load viscous power of appropriate viscosity to this. Safety margin may be provided before fixing the rating of the pri-mover. For higher viscosity further margin may be kept or the manufacturer may be consulted. All sizes of 'HGSX' pumps are designed to run at 1440 RPM up to viscosity of 500 CST, however small size pump up to 1" can be run at 1440 RPM safety, even at higher viscosity up to 1000 CST but with additional horse power, for higher sizes reduce the speed to 960 RPM. For viscosity above 1000 CST. speed is require further to avoid cavitation & over loading consult our expert.
Uses :This compact & efficient SS pumps finds different application for handling food products like Ghee, Butter fruit pulp, vegetable souse, kanji etc. They are also used in Pharmaceutical application for handling sugar solution, Glycerine, Glycol etc. Corrosive viscous chemicals application can also be met with this pump most effectively.

Pump Motor Coding :
Pump Operation & Performance Characteristics
Gear pump is the most versatile rotary positive displacement pump & it scores over other types of Pd pumps viz. Screw, Vane, Lobe, Tracoidal, Radial piston etc. & therefore it is used for the widest range of application i.e. loading-unloading, transfer, fuel pressurizing, hydraulic, lubrication in IC engines, Polymers metering applications etc. Gear pump can develop high pressure uo tp 210 bar in same configuration simply by tightening the working clearances & improving the workmanship, whereas in screw pump the thread length is needed to increase making the pump bulky & difficult to manufacture. In gear pump each tooth gap contributes to the capacity while in screw pump only one pitch length contributes to the capacity thus gear pumps are always cpmpact & efficient. The capacity of the pump varies directly with speed but remain constant against pressure, however some liquid always by-passes to suction due to running clearance between the casing & impeller causing slip which depends upon the differential pressure, viscosity of the liquid & the workmanship. Gear pumps are capable of handling liquids of any viscosity, th slip reduces with increse in viscocity but the frictional power increses. Though the pump has a self priming capability some net positive suction head(NPSH) is always required to avoid cavitation, this again depends on the viscosity of the liquid to be pumped & the pumping speed.
Internal power losses : In rotary gear pumps are of two types.The mechanical loss is the power required to overcome friction drag of all the moving part within the pump while viscous loss is power loss due to fluid viscous drag & shearing action of the fluid, this can be calculated from the graph shown here.
Horse power calculation : The bhp required to drive a rotary pump is sum of the theoretical HP & internal losses. The former is the actual work done in moving the fluid from inlet pressure condition to outlet pressure condition & is product of constant C=0.037, Capacity in M3/hr. & Pressure in Kg/CM2 or Constant c-2.3, Capacity in GPM & Pressure in PSI.
Gear Pump Selection & uses : RDBX/NX series pump are medium pressure pumps designed for viscous pressure application up to 21 bar. The bush bearing version type RDBX is used for clean or dirty viscous & semi viscous liquid where the shaft surface speed is less. Pump upto 21/2" size can be run at 1440 RPM & for higher size the speed should be reduced to 960 RPM or lower. The self-lubricated needle roller bearing type can be used for clear viscous liquid & can be run at 1440 RPM for all the sizes. This pump are ideally suited for fuel pressuring, hydraulic, medium pressure lubrication & transfer applications.
Inspection & testing : All pumps are assembled after due inspection of each & every parts & than they are tested for duty parameters in accordance with API-676 & JIS-B 8312-1976. Third party inspection are also offered, we are approved by following consultants & inspection agencies.

The mechanical losses is the power necessary to overcome frictional drag of all the moving part within the pump While viscous losses is power requited to overcome fluid viscous drag & shearing action of the fluid, this can be computed from the graph on the opposite side.
H.P. calculation : The break horse power required to drive a rotary pump is sum of the theoretical HP & internal losses. The theoratical power is the actual work done in moving the fluid from inlet port to out let pressure condition & is product of Constant C=0.037, Capacity in cub. Mt./hr. & Pressure Kg/Sq. Cm or Constant=2.39, Capacity in us GPM & Pressure in PSI.
Pump Selection & uses : The bush bearing type of pump can be used for clean viscous liquid having sufficient lubricating value such as clean tube oil, Vegitable oil, Fish & Animal oil, Gear oil, Glycerine Hydraulic oil, Honey, ASMI & SAE lubricating oil for intermittant duty. However for continues duty pump with needle roller bearing in 'RDRN' series should be selected. For liquid having low viscosity, poor lubricating values or Containing dirts or impurities such as Crude oil, Dirty lube oil, HSD, Kerosene, LDO, Paints, Sugar solution, Turpentine, Varnish, WoodPulp. Pump with independently lubricated bearing should be selected. For liquid which tends to solidify at room temperature such as Ashphalt, Bituman, Fumace oil, Tar, Cellulose, Starch, LSHS, HPS, Molasses, Naptha, Phenol resin, RFO, Silicate, Soap solution, Viscous, Wax etc. Jacketing constructions hould be selected to facilitate the heating or the pump by steam or thermic fluid.
Inspection & testing : All Pumps are individialy tested for its performance as per JIS B-8312-1976. Third party inspection is also offered to following agencies with whom we are already registesed as an approved supplier of these pumps.

ROTODEL rotary pump type "HGBX" is a self priming bi-directional positive displacement gear pump in simple two piece cast iron construction with single helical modified profile carbon steel gears shrunk fitted on alloy steel hardened & ground shaft as impeller firmly supported on 4 nos of seld-lubricated sintered bronze bush bearing. The pump can be run in either direction with change in Inlet-Outlet port position.The relief valve operations can be reversed by simply changning the R.V. parts on opposite side. The motorised pump-set in mono-block design ensures perfect alignment, saves space & reduces down time.
"HGBX" series pumps are designed to run at 1440 RPM up to viscosity of 500 CST, for higher viscosity it is desirable to reduce speed for sizes above 11/4". Performance at low speed is always advantageous as it improves efficiency reduces noise level & NPSHR & enhances operational life, Capacity will reduce in proportion to the speed.
UsesDue to simple & compact design & with mono-block version these pumps are ideally suitale for OE application of engine lubrication, pumping & heating units, oil filtration, cleaning & cooling systems. The pump can also be used for general purpose application to handle viscous liquid such as fuel oil, lube oil, LSHS, mineral oil, transformer oil, LDO paints, varnish, glue, glycerine, soap solution, sugar solution & molasses.

Handling high volume of viscous liquid at medium pressure is a challenge & calls for expertise. We at DEL have aquired this over last 25 years through in house research & development based on customer feed back & field trials.
The proven range of rotary twin gear pump type 'RDRN' have been modified to achieve high pressure by reducing the bearing span, balancing the hydraulic force & blocking the slippage path but without compromising on the basic features prominent with all ROTODEL rotary pumps viz the compactness, efficiency, reliability & low noise level.
A pair of impeller with herringbone gear fitted on hardened & ground shaft with shaft sleeves in floating design supported on either side on needle/bush bearings located on end covers with ltb. wearing plate packed in between and placed inside close tolerance accurately machined casing with built in pressure relief valve makes the pump. Size 1/2" to 2 1/2" are provided with BSP thread inlet - oulet flange connections & they are available with foot or flange mounting. Size 3" to 6" are foot mounted with inlet-outlet port drilled to ASA-300 class. Type RDBX is a bush bearing version & is offered upto 2 1/2" size.
This pump can also be offered with different MOC viz. CI, CS, Bronze, SS etc. Pump upto 35 bar are also offered in this series by further reducing the bearing span. The flange type pump coupled with flange type electric motor is offered in horizontal as well as vertical construction.
Pump Operation & Performance CharacteristicsGear pump is the most versatile rotary positive displacement pump & it scores over other types of Pd pumps viz. Screw, Vane, Lobe, Tracoidal, Radial piston etc. & therefore it is used for the widest range of application i.e. loading-unloading, transfer, fuel pressurizing, hydraulic, lubrication in IC engines, Polymers metering applications etc. Gear pump can develop high pressure uo tp 210 bar in same configuration simply by tightening the working clearances & improving the workmanship, whereas in screw pump the thread length is needed to increase making the pump bulky & difficult to manufacture. In gear pump each tooth gap contributes to the capacity while in screw pump only one pitch length contributes to the capacity thus gear pumps are always cpmpact & efficient. The capacity of the pump varies directly with speed but remain constant against pressure, however some liquid always by-passes to suction due to running clearance between the casing & impeller causing slip which depends upon the differential pressure, viscosity of the liquid & the workmanship. Gear pumps are capable of handling liquids of any viscosity, th slip reduces with increse in viscocity but the frictional power increses. Though the pump has a self priming capability some net positive suction head(NPSH) is always required to avoid cavitation, this again depends on the viscosity of the liquid to be pumped & the pumping speed.
Internal power lossesIn rotary gear pumps are of two types.The mechanical loss is the power required to overcome friction drag of all the moving part within the pump while viscous loss is power loss due to fluid viscous drag & shearing action of the fluid, this can be calculated from the graph shown here.
Horse power calculationThe bhp required to drive a rotary pump is sum of the theoretical HP & internal losses. The former is the actual work done in moving the fluid from inlet pressure condition to outlet pressure condition & is product of constant C=0.037, Capacity in M3/hr. & Pressure in Kg/CM2 or Constant c-2.3, Capacity in GPM & Pressure in PSI.
Gear Pump Selection & usesRDBX/NX series pump are medium pressure pumps designed for viscous pressure application up to 21 bar. The bush bearing version type RDBX is used for clean or dirty viscous & semi viscous liquid where the shaft surface speed is less. Pump upto 21/2" size can be run at 1440 RPM & for higher size the speed should be reduced to 960 RPM or lower. The self-lubricated needle roller bearing type can be used for clear viscous liquid & can be run at 1440 RPM for all the sizes. This pump are ideally suited for fuel pressuring, hydraulic, medium pressure lubrication & transfer applications.
Inspection & testingAll pumps are assembled after due inspection of each & every parts & than they are tested for duty parameters in accordance with API-676 & JIS-B 8312-1976. Third party inspection are also offered, we are approved by following consultants & inspection agencies.

Advantages

The pumps are capable of handling any vcosity, the sleep reduces with viscosity but the viscous power increases. The punp has a self-priming capability however some net positive suction head (NPSH) is always required to avoid cavitations depending upon the viscosity of the liquid to be pumped & the pump speed.

Pump Selection & usesThe bush bearing type of pump can be used for clean viscous liquid having sufficient lubricating value such as clean tube oil, Vegitable oil, Fish & Animal oil, Gear oil, Glycerine Hydraulic oil, Honey, ASMI & SAE lubricating oil for intermittant duty. However for continues duty pump with needle roller bearing in 'RDRN' series should be selected. For liquid having low viscosity, poor lubricating values or Containing dirts or impurities such as Crude oil, Dirty lube oil, HSD, Kerosene, LDO, Paints, Sugar solution, Turpentine, Varnish, WoodPulp. Pump with independently lubricated bearing should be selected. For liquid which tends to solidify at room temperature such as Ashphalt, Bituman, Fumace oil, Tar, Cellulose, Starch, LSHS, HPS, Molasses, Naptha, Phenol resin, RFO, Silicate, Soap solution, Viscous, Wax etc. Jacketing constructions hould be selected to facilitate the heating or the pump by steam or thermic fluid.
Inspection & testingAll Pumps are individialy tested for its performance as per JIS B-8312-1976. Third party inspection is also offered to following agencies with whom we are already registesed as an approved supplier of these pumps.

ROTODEL gear pump type "HGSX" is all stainless steel SS-316 self priming bi-directional positive displacement rotary pump, fitted with teflon coated dry running 'DU' bush bearing. Three piece design makes the pump easy cleanable, easy maintainable simply by removing four dom nuts on back cover. Mechanical seal is optional for teflon gland packing. The mounting bracket converts the pump to foot mounting & facilities to align the pump with electric motor of appropriate ratings on base plate at same frame height.
SPECIAL NOTES
Power requirement at duty point can be worked out by multiplying the duty point pressure with unit hp.& adding no Load viscous power of appropriate viscosity to this. Safety margin may be provided before fixing the rating of the pri-mover. For higher viscosity further margin may be kept or the manufacturer may be consulted. All sizes of 'HGSX' pumps are designed to run at 1440 RPM up to viscosity of 500 CST, however small size pump up to 1" can be run at 1440 RPM safety, even at higher viscosity up to 1000 CST but with additional horse power, for higher sizes reduce the speed to 960 RPM. For viscosity above 1000 CST. speed is require further to avoid cavitation & over loading consult our expert.
Uses
This compact & efficient SS pumps finds different application for handling food products like Ghee, Butter fruit pulp, vegetable souse, kanji etc. They are also used in Pharmaceutical application for handling sugar solution, Glycerine, Glycol etc. Corrosive viscous chemicals application can also be met with this pump most effectively.

NDX series pumps are designed to handle bulk volume of viscous & semi viscous liquids quite efficiently at medium pressure up to 11 bar. The pump can be coupled directly with drive as impeller speed reduction ismade possible within pump, making it very compact & cost economical & there by reducing the over all cost & space, the timing gear reduces the noise level & enhances the working life of the pump.This pump out performance twin Screw pump in all aspect in this range & they are suitable for wagon decanting, cargo-un-loading of various viscous liquids such as edible oils, Fuel oils, viscous chemicals etc. Step-down Versions are also available; type MDX comes without reduction gears where as type JDX comes without timing & reduction gears, type JDB is with bush bearing suitable for molasses applications.

Uses : RDMNS Pumps are used for handling thinner liquid at moderate pressurizing viz. foam pressurizing application for fire fighting, high pressure coolant transfer application for machine tools, light fuel pressurizing application or boiler & burners, heavy viscous liquid transfer application such as Molasses, Magma, Soap stock, Tar, Bitumen, Paints, Varnish, Crude oil etc.
Power Sped : The Hydraulic HP should be calculated by multiplying the unit HP with the duty point pressure, the viscous horse power of appropriate viscosity should be added to this from above chart. Margin for R.V. operation & Safety margin should be provided brfore fixing the drive HP. All model of RDMNS series are basically design to run at 1440 RPM up to viscosity of 200 CST however in higher sizes above 2" the pump speed is required to be reduced with increase in viscosity for this refer viscosity speed curve or consult the works. Whir reducing the speed, the pump shaft should not be loaded with heavy gears or pulley use bearing block to take up such load.

ROTODEL Rotary gear pump type RDMS is all SS, simple four piece construction pump specially designed to handle thinner or thicker & even corrosive liquid having lesser or no lubricating value. The SS-316 herring bone Rotors runs on Teflon coated dry running DU bush bearing supported on bronze wearing plate, placed inside the pump casing, alternatively graphite/bronze wearing plate cum bushes are also provided for heavier viscous liquid application. The stuffing box is fitted with Z-pack sealant with provision to fit mechanical shaft Seal. The pump is provided with add-on type pressure relief valve.
POWER SPEED
The Hydraulic HP should be calculated by multiplying the unit HP with the duty point pressure, the viscous horse power of appropriate viscosity should be added to this from above chart. Margin for R.V. operation & Safety margin should be provided brfore fixing the drive HP. All model of RDMS series are basically design to run at 1440 RPM up to viscosity of 200 CST however in higher sizes above 2" the pump speed is required to be reduced with increase in viscosity for this refer viscosity speed curve or consult the works. Whir reducing the speed, the pump shaft should not be loaded with heavy gears or pulley use bearing block to take up such load.
UsesRDMS Pumps are used for handling thinner liquid at moderate pressurizing viz. foam pressurizing application for fire fighting, high pressure coolant transfer application for machine tools, light fuel pressurizing application or boiler & burners, heavy viscous liquid transfer application such as Molasses, Magma, Soap stock, Tar, Bitumen, Paints, Varnish, Crude oil etc.
