This is most modern DBR with high efficacy and lowest temperature of Grids Most suitable for continuous Braking applications with higher hauling loads at low and high speeds. This design can sustain current leve up to 1000 AMPS and limitsthe temperature upto 250 C. Entire system is Roof Mounted.

The Dynamic Brake Hatch assembly is mounted in the long hood frame of the EMD Locomotives manufactured by Indian Railways, which consists of a eight grid resistor boxes, two blowers powered by two direct current series motors, cable assemblies and other accessories

Resistor Over Voltage Protection called MUB is provided in the over voltage limitation circuit which is one of the main constituent of traction power convertor (Machine Room Equipment).
If the capacitance of DC-link capacitor bank is not sufficient to prevent the DC-link from sudden and inadmissible high transient over voltages, the over voltage protection (limitation) resistor is almost immediately connected across the DC link by the firing of a GTO in the Oil Cooled Valve Set with one arm for the Motor Convertor and one arm for the MUB Valve Set.
