Data Patterns has built system level consoles for number of programs.
Data Patterns undertakes design and manufacturing services for consoles as per system level requirements.
Small Satellites especially the Micro and Nano Satellite can significantly contribute towards the development of the country by accessing space at much lower cost and quick turnaround time.Data Patterns has designed and developed standard off-the-shelf products for Nano satellite bus suitable for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite missions. These nano satellite platforms are ideal for scientic and educational payloads. The sub systems were designed in PC104 form factor and has standard interface for easy integration. Most of sub systems are proven in space, flown on NIUSAT, INS-1A, INS-1B & INS-1C satellites.
The Ground Station is a generalized open frame architecture designed by Data Patterns to support the space segment & relay mission data to the users.It has independent uplink and downlink communication channels for command and data functions. The generic design makes the control of parameters like frequency, modulation scheme, data rate and others simple. Common communication standards like HDLC, AX.25 and CCSDS are readily supported by the ground station system.The features and the flexibility of the design gives a complete and straight forward solution to communicate and control the satellites in orbit.

Based on order from the Navy, Data Patterns developed the complete Automated Test Equipment required for validating all the Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) utilized in the Seaking Helicopter. The upgrade was carried out at multiple Naval bases in India.
This engineering effort was fully validated and approved by the Quality Control Agencies for testing the flight critical LRUs and functioning of the LRUs on the aircraft.
Data Patterns is one of the few companies in the world who has carried out the implementation of a full aircraft LRU Test system.
Data Patterns utilizes Fibre Optic Communication for high speed data transfer requirements. Protocols such as Serial FPDP, Aurora, PCI Express, Gigabit Ethernet are implemented on Fibre Optic Medium.

Industry Pack (IP) modules are international standards as per ANSI-VITA 4.
These are mezzanine modules of approximately the size of a business card (99mm x 45mm). Featuring a 16 or 32 bit wide I/O interface and 50 user defined I/O pins, these modules are ideal for providing the capability for high density I/O.
IP carriers provide multiple slots on a single carrier. This allows multiple IP modules to be provided on a single slot in a Compact PCI / VME / VXI / PCI card cage.
Industry Pack modules provide some unique advantages in system integration. These include:
A unique advantage of the IP concept is the ability to utilise IP modules in multiple hardware architectures. A typical high reliability project is implemented in Compact PCI or VME or VXI architectures. However, the project is likely to need hardware in advance to carry out simulation or software development and so on. In this case, The IP modules can be procured early, and utilised on low cost PC platforms. Subsequently, the projects can transfer the resources to the final platforms. Developed source code can be easily ported to the final environment.
The layout of the IP board enables mechanical ruggedisation to be easily achieved, enabling vibration and shock resistant applications to be met.
Data Patterns has implemented a range of functions on the IP form factor. These include communication modules, digital I/O modules, special functions such as pulse generation and sensing, resolver inputs and timing generation suited for the special signals found on ships. Some of these products are used in airborne as well as marine applications.
Further functions needed for applications can be developed by Data Patterns in very short time frames, where such a development is appropriate to project requirements.
The use of the IP modules, in conjunction with carriers in standard platforms such as Compact PCI, VXI, VME and PCI enables Data Patterns to implement projects flexibly and quickly.

Power supplies of various ratings for Air, Naval ground based and space applications are developed. Products are implemented in VPX, VME, cPCI and custom form factor designs.
Most products qualified to requirements of MIL-STD-461C and MIL-STD-810D or the equivalent JSS 55555 are designed and manufactured. Airborne versions are designed to meet MIL-STD-704D. Specific design constraints are handled with respect to long time storage life and suitability for air cooled or conduction cooled applications. Designs suitable for high power supplies of various ratings for Air, Naval, Ground based and space applications are developed. The Second Launch Pad Count Down system is implemented using VXI hardware designed by Data Patterns specific to the application requirements, featuring a redundant system handling upto 14000 I/O points.
The ATE monitors various aspects of the launch vehicle during this count down phase and assists in automating launch process. This product has been very reliable in operation since 2001. The ATE consists of precision analog input signal conditioners and digitizers and discrete as well as relay logic. One of the specialised modules used for fail/safe automation is an analog comparator which is programmable to carry out safety monitoring, independent of the software for fail/safe operation purposes. This world class system was implemented by Data Patterns against strong competition and proved it's reliability over many launches of the PSLV and GSLV from the Launch Pad.

Data Patterns has developed a High performance imaging and monopulse Radar for seeker applications. This is optimized for Land & Sea targets and has X-Band SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) based imaging capability. A range of Electro-Optical Seekers are under development.

VXI stands for VME eXtensions for Instrumentation. It is an open standard first developed by five leading Test and Measurement companies in 1987 to standardise a backplane capable of developing open, interchangeable instrument modules that could be used to build Automatic Test Equipment (ATE).
Data Patterns designs and markets a wide range of VXI modules, some of which are listed below. Due to the use of the latest technologies, Data Patterns VXI modules offer the highest I/O density available in the industry today.
Further enhancements of functional capabilities are achieved by the use of VXI IP carriers and VXI M Module carriers. This extends standard functions available from Data Patterns in these mezzanine architectures to the VXI platform.
Data Patterns' VXI modules are utilized in high reliability applications such as Count Down Checkout System for the First and Second Launch Pads at Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR operated by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

The Digital Flight Control Computer is a Quadruple Redundant Flight Control Computer designed by DRDO and ADE and manufactured by Bharat Electronics Limited. Data Patterns has designed and manufactured the Automated Test Equipment required for the validation of this DFCC.
Segregated into an Analog Test System and Digital Test System, relevant boards can be plugged in on the front of the ATE and tested for full functional performance. Specialised adaptors enable probing of the backplane signals and also carry out measurements on the board by manual probing for debugging requirements.

The FPGA Mezzanine Card is used by Data Patterns to implement signal interface with external world compatible FPGAs mounted on the FMC carrier there are primarily used for high speed analog interface for digitization (ADCs) and waveform generation (DACs). This form factor is also utilized for special I/O Interfaces such as various avionic protocols and buses. FMC I/O signals may be routed via front panel connectors or through Mezzanine connectors that route the signal back to the carrier board for routing through rear I/O of the Chassis. The system interface is designed for routing to FPGAs using a VITA 57 0.05 Pitch Terminal Array Assembly.
Signal Conditioner Card (SC)
Data Patterns utilize a custom form factor connector suitable for use as a plugin modules on carriers in cPCI, VME or VPX standards specially designed for slow speed precision signals.
Switched Mezzanine Card (XMC)
XMC switched Mezzanine Card form factor is used for providing cross-platform functional solutions usable on cPCI, VME and VPX systems, primarily focused on PCI Express based interface. The XMC is derived from the PMC form factor. A very broad range of I/O functionality is provided through XMC modules.

Data Patterns has designed and manufactured Fibre Optic Gyro based Inertial measurement units for under water applications with all algorithms including Kalmann filters and co-ordinate transformations implemented.

The System is intended for acquisition of static strain data on large structures such as fuel tanks in launch vehicles and launch motor casings using a 24 bit Sigma Delta ADC and precision analog signals.
This product provides Micro strain level accuracy with extreme low drift and high temperature stability for a precision strain gauge measurement system engineered for large channel count applications.
Data Patterns has supplied thousands of strain gauge measurement channels for India's launch vehicle programs by using the cPCI architecture and providing compatibility with other data acquisition products.
This system can easily can accommodate displacement measurement transducers, temperature DAC and so on. Facilities for multi rack synchronization, time stamping, operation control, grapping and reporting tools simplify the operation of the system. A comprehensive built-in test enables validation of all wired sensors. This feature is very critical when large number of sensors are simultaneously being acquired.
Data Patterns designed and built the BrahMos Missile Checkout Equipment based on the requirements and support of DRDO and BrahMos. This unit validates the complete performance of the Missile through interfacing with it's umbilical and maintenance connections. The shelter mounted checkout equipment is utilized to test the articles on the field during it's life cycle, thus ensuring readiness for launch on demand. It comprises the power supplies, I/O interfaces, specific to type test equipment and VME based systems. This system has been designed for transportability and roadability as per the operational requirements.
The Generic RF ATE is developed to test the Radar and Radar Subsystems. The ATE is primarily built using an instrumentation control, precision RF routing systems and rack mounted test instruments. Generic RF ATE system enables measurement of parameters of Radar equipment such as Local Oscillators, Waveform Generators, Up and Down Converters, Analog Receivers, Array Group Receiver Units, TR Modules. The ATE is configured to test the Radars upto 18GHz frequency range.
Instrument Test Unit For Advanced Inertial Sensors (INTU) is used for testing and evaluation of Ring Laser Gyro (used in GSLV/PSLV launch vehicles), that detects the angular displacement during rotation. The INTU receives displacement signals from the sensor (RLG) to evaluate the sensor characteristics and also generates signals required towards initiating the action of the sensor.
This system contributes to the successful launch of many of India's rocket launch vehicles including the Polar and Geostationary Satellite Launches, the Chandrayan and the Mars Orbiter missions.

The Scan Mirror Test system is used for validating the linearity of the Scan Mirror Mechanism that is deployed on-board satellites. The system was a custom turnkey project in the electro optics domain.
Scan Mirror is swept linearly by a mechanical scanning gimbal and this allows the optical sensor to take large field exposures of the target using a single dimensional array sensor on-board the satellite. The linear mechanical movement is important for achieving an imaging linearity of the satellite, utilizing a complete non contact electro optic technique. The test system utilizes a thermovac compatible 22Mpixel camera and a pulsed laser source to monitor the movement of the scan mirror and thereby compute the movements linearity. Micro radiant level resolution is achieved through pixel level estimation algorithms.
The Power Module Checkout ATE is developed for testing DC-DC Power modules typically utilized in India's space program. The DC-DC converters are exhaustively tested for all design parameters including supply voltage range, line and load regulation, efficiency, ripple, noise, transient response and so on. Special power sources and loading mechanisms are deployed to enable testing of various types of power modules.
Data Patterns has standard software solutions for automation of test equipment application development (DP-CUTE) and for software development and debugging in multi processor environment (DP-CHRONO).
Specialized application software have been developed and implemented in mission critical aircraft displays, long endurance unattended data acquisition systems and various products for Radars, Electronic Warfare, Video Signal Processing and so on.
