Introduction | The machine is used for testing crushed slag, crushed and uncrushed gravel for resistance to abrasion. The aim of the test is to find the percentage wear due to the relative rubbing action between the aggregates and steel balls as abrasive charge. The oven-dried arrangements are weighted and rotated along with abrasive charge in the machine for the 500 or 1000 revolutions and percentage of wear so found out its reported as Los angeles abrasion value. |
General Description & Specification: | Consists of a hollow steel cylinder, closed at both ends, having an inside diameter of 700mm and inside length of 500mm. The cylinder mounted on a sturdy frame on ball bearings. The opening is closed dust tight with a removable bolted cover in place. A detachable shelf which extends through the drum catches the abrasive charge and does not allow it to fall on the cover. The drum is rotated at a speed of 30-33 RPM by an electric motor through a heavy duty reduction gear. Fitted with revolution counter and push button starter. Supplied complete with a tray for collection of the material. Abrasive charge consists of set of 12 Nos. cast iron spheres or steel spheres (hardened steel balls) approximately 48mm diameter each weigh between 390-445 gram. Complete as above. |
Optional Accessories: | The following accessories are not part of the standard supply and are supplied at an extra cost. |

Introduction | The aggregate impact value of coarse aggregate provides a relative measure of the resistance of an aggregate to sudden shock or impact. The oven dried and accurately weighed aggregates are subjected to a total of 15 blows of specified weight and fall and percentage of fines formed in terms of the total weight of the sample is expressed as the aggregate impact value. |
General Description & Specification: | Consists of base weighing between 20-30 kg with a lower surface of not less than 30cm and support columns to form a rigid frame work around the quick release trigger mechanism to ensure an effective free fall of the hammer during test. The free fall can be adjusted through 380+5.0mm. The hammer is provided with a locking arrangement. A metal tup (hammer) weighing 13.5 to 14.0 kg, the lower end of in cylinderical shape, 100mm in diameter and 5cm long with a 2mm chamfer at the lower edge and case hardened. Complete with a cylindrical cup, 102mm dia x 50mm depth, one measure 75mm dia x 50mm deep and a tamping rod of circular cross section 10mm in diameter and 230mm long, rounded at one end. |
Optional Accessories: | The following accessories are not part of the standard supply and are supplied at an extra cost. |

Introduction | For the determination of resistance of aggregate to wear by abrasion. Two hollow cylinders, closed at one end and provided with tightly fitting covers at the other end. The inside diameter of the cylinder 20 cms and 34 cms depth. The cylinders are mounted on a shaft at an angle of 30 with the axis of rotation. The shaft rotates at 30-33 rpm through a reduction gear, coupled to a motor. Suitable for operation on 440 volts, three phase, 50 cycles, AC supply. Supplied complete with a counter and push button starter. With 12 nos cast iron spheres or steel spheres (steel balls) hardened, approx. 48 mm in diameter, each weighing 380-445 gm. |
Introduction | The digital compression testing machine has been designed to meet the need for a simple, economic and reliable means to test concrete for its compressive strength. The design expressive of simplicity, both of construction and operation, makes the machine easy to use and maintain. The unit is compact, making it useful for site and Laboratory applications. The digital machines are provided with a pace rate controller, to enable maintain a constant of loading.

The Complete unit comprises a Loading Unit which is of fully welded or two pillar model construction having a cross-head with a spherical seated platen. The lower platen is attached to the top of the piston. The Loading capacity is of 2000 KN, Cubes up to 200 mm & Cylinders up to 150 mm Dia X 300 mm Height can be tested using the appropriate spacers.
Pumping Unit with choice of compact power pack attached closely to the loading unit or separate hydraulic pumping unit, attached to the loading unit by high pressure hydraulic flexible hose pipe. The pump facilitates rapid approach of the platens for daylight closure and also provides comprehensive control over the application of load. A control valve provides fine control over the loading rate for accurate pacing.
Maximum load is held and retained for approx. 15 min, unless cancelled, using the panel mounted reset switch. Pace rate set for running the test can be maintained manually.

Introduction | This machine is quite useful on field Laboratories or mobile testing laboratories or Vans which frequently change site or location. It is particularly useful where constant and consistent Electric power is not available. The load is applied manually and observed on a Pressure gauge. The Pressure Gauge has maximum load indicator which stand still even after the specimen under test crushes and has to be set to zero manually. |
