Infrared heaters are of 2 type :
These are specially designed for application that requires infrared radiant heating. It is the most efficient source of radiant energy. Quartz heater can deliver near & far infrared wavelengths which is more effective than a single wavelength, capable of generating full heat output capacity in 40 to 50 seconds, and cool down in less than 15 seconds. They offer excellent life characteristics whether operated continuously or intermittently.
Construction :Quartz heater consist of a helically wound resistance coil housed in pure vitreous silica fused quartz tube. The quartz tube is terminated with specially designed ceramic insulating caps. The ceramic caps are securely fastened to the quartz tube with high temperature cement. Quartz heaters are designed for horizontal mounting position.
(2) Tubular Infrared Heater :
These heaters are manufactured in single/dual U bend element. East mounting.
Construction :It is made from Incolay tube. Swagged type construction, gives long life & no breakage. It can be used vertical or in any position.
Working Temperature:350C to 800C.

Construction Characteristic
It is a second generation heater. Mfg for trouble free performance in operation involving heating of cylindrical surface where precise Temp. control is essential. Especially adapted as an alternate heat source of demanding and high temp. applications where other type of heaters have failed. The coil Heaters have opened revolutinized the plastic injection runnerless moulding industry. The specific way to improve coil Heater is design in rectangular mineral insulated cable which has a flat surface contact allowing better heat conduction & faster start-up time. The coil Heater has lend themselves to a wide range of appliction. The flexibilty of mineral insulated cable allows the heater to be coiled , formed, wraped around cylindrical object. The heating source for the coil Heater is a resistance wire to the specific Heater design. The coil Heaters where wire wound resistance coils are used, the tail end of the heaters is usually unheated. The drawing process involved in manufacturing the coil Heaters compact the ceramic insulators that house the Heating element into a solid mass. Providing excellent thermal conductivity, dielectric strength and quick response.
Application
The Cioil heaters for plastic injection runnerless moulding bushings & for internally heated injection M/c nozzles.
The inside diameterof a coil Heater is wound under seized for a screw-on fit.Therefore hold down fittings are not usually required.
Uses :Flexible heating tapes are used for heating glass column pipes, condensor or any metal pipe. As the name suggests it is flexible indeed. It can take any shape depending upon shape of the vessels or it can can be wrapped around. This heater is ideally suited for heating at low temperature.
Construction :Flexible heating tapes are made up of knitted fibre glass yarn with heating element in side. It is completely insulated & provided with connecting lead wire. This heater can be easily, installed & removed.
Electrical Data :Generally 230 volts A.C. is given & 100 to 200 watts per meter is provided. This heater can also be manufactured with desired specifications to suit to one's requirement.
Temperature :Maximum surface temperature can go up 350C. But it is advisable to use this heater for heating upto 200C. Exact temperature can be controlled by means of external energy regulator.

Uses :Immersion heaters are the heaters which are used mainly for heating water, oils, mineral oil, vegetable oil, fuel oil, chemicals, alkaline, acidic & non-acidic solution kept in tanks.
Construction :The immersion heaters are sheathed in S.S. or mild steel or incoly tube or copper as per the requirement. The dia of tube is available from 8.2 mm dia onwards. This heater is fitted to the tank through a check nut for horizontal (through the side) mounting or with flange for vertical (over the side) mounting. The size of check nut or flange is 11/4" to 21/2BSP.
Electrical Data :In any voltage & wattage depending upon the surface area of heaters.
Working Temperature :The temperature of immersion heater could go upto 600C depending upon sheathed material & process application.
Uses :Ideal for most Alkaline cleaning solution, detergent & other caustic solutions, normally corrsive to mild steel can also be used to heat sulpheric acid of 70% concentration to 90C.
Construction :Alkaline heaters made out of 8.2 mm chrome, nickel, steel tube for mounting on side of vessels & for easy removal & cleaning fitted with a junction box for terminating the power line.
Electrical Data :In any voltage & wattage depending upon the surface area of heaters & surrounding area in which heater is immersed.
