Climatic Chamber

The PAC series of climatic chambers are a great choice for cyclic low, high temperature and humidity tests. Built with the highest quality and reliability, this chamber is capable of meeting the most stringent testing needs of various international standards such as ASTM, IEC, MIL, DIN, etc.

There are two variants of the climatic chamber namely AH & BH with the temperature range between -40oC to 180oC (for AH) and -70oC to 180oC (for BH). The boiler system simulates humidity between 10%RH to 98%RH with the standard ramp rate of 3oC/Min (also available in 5oC/Min, 10oC/Min, 15oC/Min & 20oC/Min). The AISI-304 grade polished stainless steel test space is non-corrosive and durable, offering high uniform load bearing capacity with a maximum of 100 Kg. The test space comes in various volumes ranging from 120 Litre to 1000 Litres. Inside the test space the airflow is maintained laminar ensuring uniform temperature gradient across the test specimen. There is also provision to keep the test specimen on the adjustable shelves whose maximum shelf load capacity is up to 25 Kg. The adjustable shelves are ideal for electronics/electrical component testing and even to run a live specimen test. The semi hermetically sealed compressor (both singles as well as cascade refrigeration system) is not only calm but also offer the highest efficiency among its peers. The inner grooved evaporator unit with fins for heat exchange is designed to operate under extreme testing conditions, which not only boost the performance of the chamber but also increase its reliability.

Designed and developed by CMEs global R&D team the chamber is engineered with the latest simulation technology with an objective to offer unparalleled testing experience to the customers. The highly responsive touchscreen controller (Envicom Graphite Series) used in this chamber is bundled with whole lots of features; such as Chamber Analytics, On -demand cooling, on screen diagnostics, safety alarms. It is also integrated with networking ports such as Ethernet, RS 232, RS 485 along with 2GB SD card for test data storage. The features also include the integration with third party software such as NI/Lab view.

The biggest advantage with CME chambers is that they are highly flexible for customization. Every test follows a set of procedures as per the defined test standards (ASTM, IEC, MIL, etc.) and sometimes a standard climatic chamber might not be sufficient to conduct a particular test. Our engineers understand this need of the industry and offer the highest level of customisation such as design modification or integration with other applications such as Climatic Chamber with UTM integration, Climatic Chamber with Vibration Integration, etc. More about this will be available in Customised Solution page.

Corrosion Test Chamber

CME offer both a cyclic corrosion test chamber (SF-CCT) as well as a traditional salt spray chamber (SF-SST). The SF-CCT chambers are compatible with multiple test standards including automotive standards and they can be alternated/cycled between varied humidity programs with the traditional salt spray.

In recent years it has been proven that cyclic corrosion tests offer a more realistic simulation of real time corrosive environments than the traditional salt spray testing method. The salts spray test revolves around a single set point of temperature (ambient to 55oC) on the continuous mode. It lacks the role of real life conditions such as condensation humidity, air-drying etc. making the test less reliable than the cyclic corrosion test. Though CME offer both variants (cyclic corrosion test as well as salt spray test) of the chamber, it always suggests opting for SF-CCT as it is programmed to conduct a whole range of corrosion tests such as wet cycle, dry cycle, controlled humidity (optional) as well as the salt spray test in a single chamber!

Built with moulded fibre, reinforced plastic and coated with automotive PU paints; the chambers structure offers high strength while maintaining its non-corrosive properties. The pneumatically operated translucent hood gives a clear view of the test-in progress and offers greater flexibility in specimen mounting & dismounting. During testing the atomiser sprays fine droplets (500 micron) across the test space ensuring a uniform fog collection, whereas the low-pressure vapour boiler with air circulator provides better control in the injection of moisture with minimum fluctuation. Recently the chamber has undergone a facelift based on the recently held R&D congress (at CME HQ) to eliminate the solution tank from the chamber and offer them as a separate mobile unit as per the customers request. This has helped in decreasing the footprint area by 30% making it more compact and consistent.

Corrosion testing involves multiple test standards, which are developed by the automobile manufacturers or are according to the specific country standards. To match this diversity, CME has engineered both its SF-CCT as well as SF-SST to comply with more than 100 global test standards. It has a mix of all types of test standards ranging from ASTM, MIL, ISO, JASO to GM, NFX, AS, ECC and more. You could click here and see the full list of test standards that the chamber complies with.

Thermal Shock Chamber

The KTS series of the thermal shock chamber meets all of the major international test standards such as MIL-883H, MIL-202G -107G, JESD22-A104D, IEC 60068-2-14, JASO D014-4, EIAJ ED-2531A and JIS C 60068-2-14.

The thermal shock chamber has two zones namely the hot zone and the cold zone. The specimen is kept on the test basket, which is transferred between the hot & cold zones through a motorized system connected by a screw rod. It is primarily used to study the impact of the rapid change of temperature on the specimen. In real world scenarios, such rapid change in temperature causes cracking of the material, the mechanical failures and permanent change in electrical performance. It is therefore important to study and analyse such failures to design a better product in order to withstand such changing environmental conditions.

CMEs thermal shock chamber has recently undergone a series of technology upgrades to reduce the overall test time and to shorten the temperature recovery time while maintaining high uniformity. The result thus obtained shows consistent accuracy in temperature recovery and uniformity across multiple test cycles thereby improving the test reproducibility and reliability characteristics of the chamber. Inside the chamber, the hot and cold zones are sealed with specially designed gaskets to minimize leakage between the two zones. The Specially designed test basket of low thermal mass with a powerful temperature-conditioning unit enables the chamber to achieve faster recovery rates.

The test space is made of No.8 polished stainless steel of grade AISI-304, TIG welded and reinforced. The external body is sturdy and durable whereas the entry ports on the sides of the chamber allow the conduction of hassle free live testing. The 50 mm wheels of levelling casters dampen the vibration and offers easy mobility of the chamber in test labs. The hot and cold zone temperatures are constantly monitored by a RTD-Pt-100 sensor whereas a floating sensor monitors the temperature of test basket. A defrosting system is also built in to avoid defrosting in the cold zone and assisting the chamber to operate for longer durations without stoppage.

Similar to other chambers, the thermal shock chamber also has the Envicom Graphite Series controller which is touch enabled and bundled with multiple features to augment the testing experience. The ports of Ethernet, RS 232 and RS 485 ensure remote monitoring of the chamber as well as integration with the third party software such as NI/Lab view.
