Caltech Engineering Services- India introduces Pa-El's Solid state Solid State Polarization Cell that is a semiconductor cell, used for short-term current peaks and over voltage drainage. Solid State Polarization Cell that we provide is also used for synchronization of cathodic protection system with lightning strike protection demands for gas reduction station, measuring reduction station, blockade station etc. There are two types of solid-state Solid State Polarization Cell: PPÄ1 for 35A/40kA current and PPÄ2 for 100A/40kA current. Voltage and current signals are available on DB9 standard connector Adjustmentand RepairsValidity check is performed once a year. Validity check is performed by :

• visual inspection
• blocking voltage check in both direction
• measuring point cable check
• grounding resistance measurement
• AC/DC potential on pipeline and grounding measurement
• AC/DC current measurement

PPÄ is a one-time product and adjustment is not possible. Breakdown voltage is mostly occurred as short-circuit, rarely as a total disconnection between positive and negative pole. If break down detected it is necessary to replace cell with new one.

We are a well-known provider of Polarization Cell. The range of Polarisation Cell made available by us is used to protect against induced AC current and ground fault current on buried pipelines. Polarization Cell permits low-level voltage of cathodic protection to uniform flow and prevent hazardous voltages. Polarization Cell consists of multiple plates of steel arranged, fixed and immersed in 30% KOH (Potassium Hydroxide) solution. Polarization Cell has specially selected oil layer stop the evaporation of solution to some extent. Note :It is advisable to verify the solution level periodically. Polarization Cell provided by us is fitted in transparent body to check solution level. Normal storage of cell does not have any internal voltage and act as a grounding switch in presence of high voltage. Polarization Cell works on electrochemical principle. Installed plates with large surface area polarize and allow in developing safe DC voltage suitable for cathodic protection. As the voltage increases from DC or AC voltage, the polarization film breaks and polarization cell conduct current. Specially designed polarization cells have properties to retain solution level to the maximum period with specially added floating oil. Polarization Cell is designed to protect personnel and equipment from electrical disturbances Polarization Cell controls the flow of potentially dangerous AC and DC current in buried surface protected oil & gas, water pipelines on the buried metallic structures. Grounding cells needs to be installed with high precaution of gas ventilation. Improper installation could produce hazardous gases resulting to cause explosion and harmful to operators. Polarization Cell is safe while using as per the rated capacity given in the information section to prevent corrosion.
