Class K fires do involve flammable liquids, please be aware that Class B fire extinguishers (rated for flammable liquids such as petroleum and gases) are not efficient to handle the high-temperature cooking oil and grease fires that occur in kitchens.
Its also important to remember that the use of water on cooking oil and grease fires will only spread the fire since the oil is not absorbed into the water but rather transported by it. Never use water on a fire involving grease or oil.

This thin polysaccharide film protects the foam without destruction of aqueous film by polar solvents. The nozzles are designed to be installed in groups or zones of protection and operate simultaneously to rapidly extinguish high intensity oil fires.The type of nozzle, the flow rate, and discharge angle is determined by the type of risk involved.
These groups of nozzles are linked to a detection airline and a Deluge system control valve.In the event of a fire, the devices in the detection airline operate to release air within the system.This in turn operates the Deluge system control valve, which opens to discharge water simultaneously through all the open nozzles within the protected area.
High Velocity Water Spray Nozzles are internal swirl plate type open nozzles designed for use in fixed water spray or deluge system for the fire protection application.

Foam Sprinkler Heads are available in both aspirating and non-aspirating versions. Aspirated sprinkler heads are required for protein and fluoroprotein foams in deluge systems. Foam Chamber is used in one of the most common application to protect vertical fixed roof (cone) liquid storage tanks, with or without internal floating roof with the low expansion foam system. Foam Chambers are air aspirating devices used for the protection of fixed roof flammable liquid storage tanks. This method consists of one or more foam chambers installed on the shell of the tank just below the roof joint. A foam solution pipe extends from the proportioning source outside the dike wall to the foam maker located upstream of the chamber. Foam Chambers are widely used with the line proportioner and bladder tank / balanced pressure pump in low expansion foam system. Upon entering the chamber the foam solution is expanded and then discharged against a deflector mounted inside.
