B&H Weldcast is a medium heavy coated, low hydrogen type graphite based electrode for non machinable welds on cast iron. The electrode is preferred when a strong and rigid joint is to be obtained between two cast iron parts.

Welding of cast iron parts for all types of general reclamation or repair work where machinability is not a primary consideration, joining cast iron to mild steel etc.

B&H Castelec AWS/SFA 5.15 : E Ni-Fe-CI

B&H Castelec is a medium coated electrode, depositing ferronickel alloy weldmetal, ideal for welding of several types of cast irons and components for producing strong crack free weld joints. The weldmetal is soft, ductile and easily machinable. It is not necessary to preheat even large complicated castings. Because of easy and intimate fusion with all grade of cast iron, the electrode is best suited for welding and repairing of all cast iron compounds.

Repair of Broken castings, building up of worn surfaces, correcting machining errors on castings and joining cast iron to steel. Welding of modular graphite iron, malleable iron subject to heavy wear.

B&H Monel AWS A/SFA: E Ni-Cu B

B&H Monel is a medium coated nickel-copper alloy electrode depositing a monel weldmetal for welding of cast iron. The arc is soft and stable with least spatter and the slag is easily detachable. The deposit gives hardness approximately 175 BHN. The deposits are machinable.

Ideal for repairing defects in foundry cast iron castings, joining, repairing, rebuilding and surfacing of cast iron parts and components. Weld metal for gears, machinery parts, pump bodies etc.

B&H Nickelec AWS A/SFA 5.15 : E Ni-CI

B&H Nickelec is a medium coated electrode, with pure Nickel core wire, specially designed for welding cast irons the coldway. The weldmetal is ductile, soft and easily machinable and at the same time retains adequate strength.

Suitable of repairing of cracks filling up and surfacing applications. Excellent for building up a non-corrosive surface of nickel on cast iron parts exposed to corrosive liquids. Major applications are pump casings, cast iron dies, engine blocks, valve bodies, cast iron component etc.

Stainelec-309L is a medium heavy coated, all positions radiographic electrode giving 25/12 deposit, which has excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance in continuous service upto 1100oC. It has stable arc, less spatter, easily controllable and detachable slag.

Ideally for welding of AISI 309 type, straight chrome steels, joining stainless steels to lower alloy steels and carbon steels, welding, the clad side of 18/8 clad steels, lining of 12 Cr steels, overlays of ferritic steels, dissimilar steels and difficult to weld steels.

Stainelec-310 is an all position electrode which gives 25 Cr-20 Ni weld deposits. The weld deposit has excellent stability and resistance to oxidation and scaling upto 1200oC. Low spatter, quiet stable with easy striking and restriking and excellent weld bead are its characteristics.

Welding of AISI 310 type steels, cladding sides of stainless clad steels, straight chrome steels and dissimilar steels, hydrogenation and polymerisation plants, gas turbine combustion chamber parts, high temperature furnace parts, annealing boxes and carburising pots etc. Also suitable for welding of C-Mo, Cr-Mo steels where preheat and post weld heat treatment are not feasible.

B&H Hardelec-I is a medium heavy coated, rutile type hardfacing electrode, operating on AC/DC(-), depositing an air hardening weld metal of approx. 250 BHN hardness. The deposit displays excellent toughness and ability to withstand heavy impact loads and has excellent resistance to rolling and sliding friction. The weld deposit is machinable. A buffer layer of B&H-7016 is recommended on hard base materials. Welds are normally machinable.

Ideal for gears, shafts, couplings, sugarcane crushers, spindles, pinion teeths, rollers, sprockets, pullies, axles, wheels, rail points and crossings etc.

A Medium Heavy Coated, Rutile Type Electrode (350 BHN)

B&H Hardelec-II is a medium heavy coated, rutile type electrode, deporting an air hardening type weldmetal of hardness approximately 350 BHN. The weldmetal is highly resistant to abrassive wear and has a fair degree of toughness. The weldmetal is machinable with carbide tools. A buffer layer of low hydrogen electrode (B&H-7016/B&H-7018) is recommended on carbon and low alloy wheels.

The welds are non-machinable and suitable for applications involving severe abrasion and impact. Soft, steady and smooth arc, least spatter and easily detachable slag are some of its operating characteristics.
