We are one of the most renowned manufacturers and exporters of Vapcoat-R. In the process of rotery screen engraving it is the emulsion that forms the link between the image & the screen & playing a vital role. Quality of the image, mechanical resistance to all printing paste, the runability & Photo efficiency are the outstanding features of VAPCOAT-R PHOTO SCREEN EMULSION. Forexposing the screen following procedure is to be followed.
Preparing & Applying Preparation of Emulsion : Take 1 Kg of VAPCOAT-R Emulsion in a clean vessel & also take 50 ml. of sensitizer. Mix them together for sometime till the colour of Emulsion is changed to light uniform green. Viscosity of the Emulsion can be changed by adding DISTILLED WATER depending upon mesh of the screen & technique of coating - i.e. machine coating or hand coating. Filter this emulsion with bolting cloth & close the vessel for 1 hour in cool dark place so that all the air bubbles are disappeared. Degreasing & Cleaning the Screen : A completely grease free screen is required in order to achieve good fixing of Emulsion to the screen. Even if the screen is being used for the first time it is required to be degreased with the degreaser, by giving good rinse & immersion in degreaser & subsequent cleaning with pressure of water. Allow it to dry in a dust free area. Coating of Emulsion : Direct Emulsion Coating requires skill to produce uniform pinhole free coating. VAPCOAT-R Emulsion can be applied to a screen by using circular rubber squeegee. It should be verified that the rubber of the squeegee has constant & correct hardness, elasticity & diameter & even after prolonged use it maintains elasticity & it is not broken or cracked. There are two methods of coating Photo Emulsion viz. Machine Coating & hand coating. Machine Coating : In this method Emulsion is applied automatically to screen in single action & one cycle of operation from top to bottom & it forms smooth adhesion between emulsion & screen so that practically no touching is required & pinholes hardly ever occur. Viscosity of the emulsion can be diluted by adding distilled water to suit the machine coating. Hand Coating : In this type of technique round rings are inserted on both sides of rings & it is placed on floor in upright position & after that emulsion is applied to screen at even speed by using circular rubber squeegee from bottom to top at a even speed & put the screen in dryer. Depending upon the mesh of the screen additional 3 to 4 coats are required by repeating the above procedure. Drying & Exposing Drying The Screen : After applying the emulsion the screen is transferred to dryer & dried by heating air approximately 30 C. & drying it to a relative humidity at 40%. In case of hand coating, if you are coating the screen for 2nd & 3rd time, it is important that the first coat be thoroughly dried before the subsequent coat is applied. Moisture remain present in coated screen even when the screen feels dry to touch. Exposing the Screen : Exposing is one of the most important factors in achieving fine image & sharpness. The important aspect is deciding exposing time which depends on mesh of the screen, thickness of coating, light source for Photography & image pattern. Photo Emulsion is extremely sensitive to ultraviolet light & takes little time for photography. If exposing machines are fitted with metal halogenate lamps or xenon lamps then exposing time of 2 to 4 minutes are sufficient. Thus time of exposing varies from 2 minutes to 7 minutes depending upon light sources & exposure should himself determine time for photography. Developing-Polymerizing Developing the Screen : Immediately after exposure, the screen is taken for developing where it is immersed in a cool water for 5 to 10 minutes. The lacquer not exposed is removed into tank with rubber foam thoroughly both from inside & outside the screen till the image comes out clearly. Use of spray gun is desirable for removal of excess lacquer left behind after developing in the tank. Open areas in the screen are checked under tubelight on touching stand & closed by means of brush. Polymerization - Curing by HeatAfter the screen is developed & dried (at room temperature) it is kept in polymeriser (Heater) for curing. The temperature in the chamber should be 170oC. to 180oC. throughout & constant & screen should be kept for at least one & half hour which ensures complete resistance to chemicals. It should be ensured that temperature is maintained throughout, in the chamber. Generally it happens that temperature in the chamber varies considerably between top & bottom. To eliminate this it is desirable to turn the screen after 45 minutes. It should be observed that colour of the screen is uniform throughout from top to bottom after curing, otherwise screen is under-cured & creates problem of leakage. It is here that the screen acquires its final chemical & mechanical properties. Endring GlueThe last stage in the process of preparing the screen for printing is gluing of endring from both the side so that it can resist considerable amount of force during printing speed. We manufacture and export Vapcoat-FS. Under the Direct Emulsion Technique of stencil preparation VAPCOAT is coated into the screens and within no time screen is ready for printing and this replaces the traditional time consuming and irritating methods of preparing the screens. Our VAPCOAT PHOTO EMULSION is manufactured under standard conditions and under strict quality control.
Procedure Cleaning the Screen : Proper fabric treatment and adequate degreasing are very important for good result. Therefore, wash the screen with clean water and dry it. Mixing : Take 1 kg of VAPCOAT emulsion in a clean vessel. Also take a glass of distilled water sufficient to mix 5 to 7 grams of Ammonium Bi-cromate and stir the solution till it is completely dissolved. Mix this solution of Ammonium Bi-cromate with the VAPCOAT solution of 1 kg. and stir until the colour of the solution is changed to light uniform green. Viscosity of the emulsion can be adjusted with distilled water Filter the emulsion with bolting cloth and close the container at least for 1/2 hour so that all the air-bubbles are disappeared. Processing and Coating Techniques : It is always desirable that light in the Photography department is subdued light and if possible, yellow light. Direct emulsion coating requires skill to produce uniform pinhole free stencils. Important factors are the fabric mesh number, thread diameter, colour of the fabric the tension and the solid contents, the thickness of the coating blade, angle and speed of the coating blade across the screens etc. If you change the supplier of the bolting cloth, check and see that you are receiving the same type of material as before. Thus it is very important that print quality is dependent upon the correct coating technique. If the coating is made to the satisfaction then one coating is sufficient from outside otherwise repeat the procedure. Drying : After the coating is over, it is important to thoroughly dry the coated screen before it is exposed otherwise stencil quality will be poor. Moisture remain present in the coated screen even when the screen feels dry to touch if you are coating the screen for second time. It is important that the first coat be thoroughly dry before the second coat is applied. Dry the coated screens in horizontal position at room temperature with fans, to get best result and sharpness. Exposure : Exposing is one of the most important factors in achieving fine image and sharpness and maximum mechanical screen resistance. The only way of achieving the correct exposing is through adjusting exposing time using fixedfactors such as no of tube light, the quality of the light, set distance and setcoating techniques and accordingly photography time is adjusted. Time of photography varies between 30 seconds to 120 seconds under standard conditions. Washing : Immediately after the exposure of screen wash the screen With gentle spray of water from the squeeze side i.e. inside until the image comes up if requireduserubber foam gently. Blocking out and touch up : The most common method is to use the excess emulsion for filling the entire screen with a piece of cardboard it touching is required use the same materi Drying with sensitizer : After the screen is washed out. dry the screen and apply with piece of cloth liquid solution of ammonium bi-cromate. Before sending it to printing department, wash the screen with a sprayer to remove the excess bi-cromat Your screen is ready for printing. Advantages Time Saving : Considerable time is saved in preparing one complete screen with VAPCOAT photo emulsion. The screen is ready to use within 30 to 45 minutes dependin upon the repeat and urgency which otherwise take on day with lacquer. Cheaper : Cost wise VAPCOAT emulsion is cheaper than the traditional lacquer which is very costly. No Disruption : Printing program is not disturbed if screen is torn out on the table or machine. With VAPCOAT emulsion, Screens can be prepared immediately. Sharpness : Sharpness of the design is the hallmark of the VAPCOAT photo emulsion and sharpness of the design improves to a great extent. Cleanliness : Cleanliness in the photography department and avoidance of bad smell is possible with the use of VAPCOAT photo emulsion. Storage : Keep the container closed &away from sunlight. Shelf Life : 12 months, if container is properly closed. Packing : 10 Kgs &25 Kgs Bucket Packing. Stripper has been especially designed to remove the cured photo lacquer from the nickel rotary screen, even if polymerization of the photo lacquer has taken place at 180*C, during 2 hours. Appication : Stripper has been especially designed to remove the cured photo lacquer from the nickel rotary screen, even if polymerization of the photo lacquer has taken place at 180 deg. C, during 2 hours. The great advantage of Stripper is that stripping takes place at room temperature. Direction for Use : Pour the Stripper into a Polyethylene stripping tank. The Screen is immersed in the Stripper. After 15-30 minutes the engraving lacquer will become loose. This time will depend on the temperature, at which polymerization was realized and the number of times screen in used. We advise that the correct stripping time is established empirically. After the screen has been taken from the Stripper, any lacquer remaining is sprayed off with water and then the screen is very thoroughly rinsed with water and dried. The effect of the Stripper will slowly decrease. In general it can be stated that, the consumption is 1 / 2 to 1 liter of Stripper per screen. In case of very long stripping time, empty the stripping tank and clean it throughly. Safety : As Stripper contains hazardous solvents and other volatile organic substance there should be provision for proper ventilation in the working space and the stripping tank should be covered. Stripper should never be allowed to come into contact with skin. When working with the stripper it is compulsory to wear safety goggles, protective mask and gloves, protective clothing and safety shoes. The most suitable material for gloves and clothing is polythene. Immediately after it has come into contact with Stripper the material must be washed off. When the skin has been affected, rinsed offwith lot of water, dry it thoroughly & then treat with fatty cream. After rinsing out with the aid of any eye-bath and a strongly diluted solution of sodium bicarbonate, on doctor's prescription, the eyes shall be washed, after which a few drops of castor a/oil applied into the eye; immediately afterwards consult eye surgeon or other doctor. The above must be available in the working area. Storage : Drums and cans containing Stripper should be stored in a cool environment, and they must be properly closed. Carbuoy should be kept at the ground level. Packing : 30 Kg Plastic Carbuoy Note : We recommend that before using our product in full scale production, the customer should make his own tests to determine the suitability of the product for his own purpose under his own operating conditions. Since the circumstances under which our product is stored, handled & used, are beyond our control, we cannot assume any responsibility of their use by the customer.
