Blodown Seprator Tank Steam Accesries

Boiler operation is a highly efficient process that allows only pure water to escape the boiler in a gaseous state. Any minerals or impurities that were previously in the water remain in the boiler where they eventually form into sludge. This sludge must be periodically drained either through the blow down fitting located on the lowest point of the boiler or through continuous/surface blow down.

Steam blow down frequency is dependent on the quality of the water source, i.e. whether you're running hot water or soft water. The Boiler Room Equipment Division can detect the hardness or softness of your water source and recommend a suitable blow down system.

We also offer extensive water treatment equipment, including water softeners and reverse osmosis systems, which can improve the quality of your boiler's water, reduce blow down rates, and improve boiler life.

Dust Collector

The multi-tube shop-assembled Dust collector BALKRISHNA consists of a housing containing a number of collection tubes, each of which is, in fact, a centrifugal dust collector. The dust laden gas entering the dirty air plenum moves downwards into the collecting tube, being guided by a helical veined annular ring. These vanes impart a smooth spiral movement to the gas, setting up a high centrifugal action.

As the gas descends in a cyclonic pattern, the dust is thrown outwards and is discharged through peripheral slots in a shave-off boot. A vortex is formed at the bottom of the centrifugal tube and the clean gas forms an inner whirl which ascends vertically into a discharge (outlet) tube, and then collectively out of the unit through the outlet plenum.

All the collectors are completely assembled to the extent practical for shipment, resulting in minimum erection man-hours and handling at the installation site.

Centrifugally cast- uniform thickness. Even the slightest shift of 1/50 in core placement can cause a reduction in thickness by 3 mm, leading to tube failure in a shorter time due to wear and tear.
Replaceable dust discharge boot- saves on replacement cost. Wear due to Abrasion is maximum at the base of a collecting tube. A sturdy cast iron bolt table boot at the base of the Dust clone facilitates quick, economical replacement.
Peripheral dust discharge- avoids dust re-entrainment.
Integral mounting flange- effective sealing. There is an integral collar with lip and four holes for bolting.

CYCLONE

Cyclones are cylindrical chambers with a means of producing spiral flow at the top and a dust bin at bottom. These are primary collectors. Cyclones are useful for all processes such as gas cleaning, de-dusting, product recovery, pneumatic conveying etc. Cyclone with a pulse jet bag filter will offer long life to the bags and maximum efficiency of collection. Cyclones are classified as per the arrangement and number of shells.

The unique helical cover high efficiency cyclonic collectors will separate dust particles from air stream with the impact of centrifugal force. Cyclones are designed for any capacity starts from 500m3/hr. Twin and quadruple arrangements are suggested to accommodate the size for bigger capacities from 25, 000m3/hr. onwards.

- Electrically efficient
- Easy to maintain and operate
- Effective for pollution control
- Balance velocity

Electro Static Precipitators

An electrostatic precipitator is air pollution control device used to separate solid particulate matter from a contaminated air stream. Contaminated air flows into an ESP chamber and is ionized by electron emitting electrodes; also known as the corona chamber. The suspended particles are charged by the electron field and migrate to a collection plate. Accumulate particulate matter is removed from the collection plates at periodic intervals by rapping or hitting the plates with rappers (mallets type hammers). Heavy particles fall to the base of the ESP where hoppers hold the removed particles for disposal.

There are typically three types of ESP units: dry negative corona units, wet negative corona units and wet positive corona units. Dry negative corona units have inherently better voltage/current characteristics, are utilized more frequently and will be the main focus of this website; however, wet negative corona units will be discussed for their applicative differences. The following is a small list of typical industrial applications for ESPs.

- Refuse & sewerage sludge dryers and incinerators
- Coal- and oil-fired boilers, coal driers and coal mills
- Production plants for the cement, limestone, gypsum, pulp and paper industry (kilns, mills, driers and coolers)
- Electro-metallurgical, chemical, gas and detergent manufacturing plants
- SO2, SO3, acid mist and ammonia control (wet ESPs)

- ESPs are very efficient (up to 99% efficiency), even for small particles- They are generally more economical than other particulate control devices: Operating costs are reduced by low energy consumption, minimal maintenance requirements and reduced cost on spare parts- Can be designed to handle wet and dry gas compositions for a wide range of gas temperatures- Can handle large volumes of gas flow with low pressure drop
Salient features of our ESPs: - Horizontal and vertical flow precipitators.- Dry type designs for gas volumes, from as little as 5, 000 m3/hr to 1, 00, 000 m3/hr.- Wet type designs for maximum particulate removal.- Hot gas designs for operation at temperatures above 450oC.- ESPs for diverse applications like corrosive gas, tar and other difficult material, etc.

Water Scrubber

Ventures Scrubbers:A venture is a tube with a narrow throat that increases the velocity and lowers the pressure of the liquid passing through it. In venture scrubbers the inlet for the dust filled air stream is shaped like a venture. When dusty air enters it, the speed of the air stream is increased to 15000-20000 feet / minute. By adding 4-6 gallons of water pr 1000 CFM of cleaned air at the venture throat, dust is trapped in slurry to form very fine droplets. The high air velocity helps fine dust particles to be collected efficiently. After dust is captured by the water and formed into slurry, mist is eliminated from clean air stream by mist eliminator. Slurry is directed to the scrubber outlet.

It is necessary to keep the air stream close to saturation point or in a 'humidified' state to prevent dust from escaping as slurry evaporates. This could be a problem since liberated air normally does not return to the work environment. Another phenomenon that could occur is that of plumes that form due to mixing of hot air and cold air when condensed water vapor descends ground ward due to heavy water droplets, sometimes miles away.

Wet Scrubbers are most often used
- To separate explosive solids from air streams
- Where slurry could be reused (either in other parts of process or sold)
- Where chemical reactions could be generated with scrubbing action
- To absorb air

Wet scrubbers have low capital costs and require small spaces to install. They can be used to treat high temperature and high humidity air streams and have the capability to capture both air and sticky particulates. However they have high operating costs, require a pre-cleaner for heavier dust loadings, cause water pollution and are likely to erode at high velocities.
