This grade of licorice is produced by processing licorice roots in the cut-sift format, sifting according to the EU standard. The 7- millimeter-sieve format is popular in the United States and in EU regions, primarily due to its flavor profile.
To produce a crushed teagrade of licorice, liquorice roots are cleaned and crushed. This grade is more popular in Egyptian countries, used primarily in tea and other beverages for its flavor profile. The color is brightyellow, and the taste is sweet. Crushed, tea-grade liquorice carries a high content of glycyrrhizin.
The regular clean grade licorice roots belong to the Glycyrrhiza glabra species. This grade of root, which carries a high glycyrrhizin, and glabredin content, is one side manually cut after manual cleaning at source. This is sourced from Afghanistan and is unprocessed. The root grade has yellow tips and brown bark and is of outstanding quality. It is natural, grown in the wild, and is used as a flavoring ingredient, to form extract, and in the cosmetic industry.
