Databus Cables

  • Feature All our data bus cables meet the MIL-STD-1553 standard., Operating temperature: -90°C to +200°C (ambient and peak temperatures).
Databus cables are designed in compliance with the mil-std-1553 standard. They are 22, 24 and 26AWG screened twisted-pair cables insulated with PTFE or PFA. All of them are designed to meet 77 characteristic impedance. 24 AWG cables are a good compromise between the electrical, space and weight characteristics while 26 AWG cables provide weight saving. Axons data bus cables exist in different versions: aeronautics, space and Eurofighter.

Designed for the cabling of aircraft and helicopters, they exhibit excellent mechanical and electrical performances up to 6 GHz and 18 GHz for cable assemblies. The lightened WN KW (7.65 mm diameter) consists of a central aluminium conductor, a Celloflon dielectric (Expanded PTFE patented by axon), a reinforced aluminium braided shield and a FEP outer jacket. For a cable with such a small diameter, the attenuation values are excellent (15 dB for 100 m at 1 GHz). Moreover, the Celloflon provides not only a low dielectric constant but also very good crush resistance (100 daN100 mm).
