It is one of the most complex in terms of design and operation. It provides a constant pressure steam through a controlled extraction at various loading conditions of the turbine based on process variations.
The steam in the back pressure turbine is expanded to the predetermined pressure and sent to the process requirement. Usually this type of turbines are used in cogen applications. For same power rating the cost of turbine is less compared to Condensing Turbine due to its small size.
