After application flush the surface of tile using a hard rubber float, working diagonally across the grout joints to fill and compact the joints. All excess grout should be removed with the same rubber float without any delay.*lesser the quantity of grout left on the face of the tiles while application, the final cleaning will be easier. With antique tiles & grout cleaner 225.*however, it is important to allow the grout to set in the joint and to let it acquire its initial set before any further cleaning. After the initial set of the grout, clean the tile surface with a pad of cheesecloth or towel dampened with minimum quantity of clean and cool water. Rub in a circular motion to further compact the grout.*the remaining surface grout on the tile can also be cleaned at this time. Scrubbing pad fastened to a float works very well to remove grout from the porous tiles.*rebuff the tile surface and grout within 1-2 hours to remove all weep water and grout residue from the surface, which helps to reduce the efflorescence and to control colour variation.
4 cleaning*polish the tiles when the job is complete with a clean dry cloth. Scrubbing the floor with hot water and soap water is the best.*due to polymer content, it is advisable to clean the surface immediately after the grouting.
precautions & limitations*do not mix excess water.*antique tile grout silver cannot be used where high acid resistance is required because of its cement base.*the potential for efflorescence is inherent in all cement-based products and it is not to be considered as a manufacturing defect.

Application ProcedureRemove all loosely adhering material from the wall surface with the help of emery stone, putty blade or wire brush and clean water. The substrate should be clean, free from dust, grease and loose materials.Dry and absorbent surfaces should be moistened with sufficient quantity of clean water.Mix Antique Wall Mortar with 60-65% clean water slowly to make paste. Continue the mixing for 10-15 minutes with putty grind machine till a uniform paste is formed. After thoroughly mixing Antique Wall Mortar apply the first coat with Antique base mortar on already moistened wall surface from bottom to upward direction uniformly with the help of putty blade. This would ensure less wastage and proper finish. After drying of first coat of Antique base mortar just rub the surface gently with west sponge or rub the surface very gently with the putty blade in order to remove the loose particles. Allow the surface to dry for atleast 24 hours and then apply second coat of with Antique finish mortar Leave the surface to dry completely. After drying of second coat remove marks if any with the help of moist sponge or rub the surface very gently with the putty blade. Leave the surface to dry preferably for overnight. Always prepare a required quantity of putty and use it within 2-3 hrs. of mixing with water The total thickness of the coats should be limited to maximum 1.5mm. It is not essential to rub the surface done with Antique Wall Mortar, however if you need to remove unevenness before applying any kind of paint/distemper, gently level the walls/ceiling surface with very fine water proof emery paper of not less that 500 number to get a glossy white surface.
Precautions During ApplicationMixing of Antique Wall Mortar is very important and hence extreme care is to be taken for proper and thorough mixing with hand or mechanical stirrer in order to get best results. Antique Wall Mortar should be done over fully cured surface. It is recommended not to rub Antique Wall Mortar strongly and harshly with rough emery paper. This breaks the film formed over Antique Wall Mortar, which decreases the water repellency properties. The total thickness of the coat should be limited to maximum 1.5mm. In case of fresh concrete/mortar surface it is recommended that two coats of Antique Base Mortar be apply before application of Antique Wall Mortar.
CoverageThe coverage area of Antique Base Wall Mortar on smooth normal mortar wall is 25 to 30 Sq. Ft/Kg/mmThe coverage area of Antique Finish Wall Mortar on smooth normal mortar wall is 35 to 40 Sq. Ft/Kg/mmThe coverage area, however, will depend upon the quality of the substrate.
NoteGenerally the cause of efflorescence on the walls surface is the brick masonry, which is due to the quality of bricks, sand and water, If the effect of efflorescence on the brick masonry seems to be very high then proper care should be taken to control the efflorescence. The efflorescence problem on brick masonry if exists impairs the bonding of Antique Wall Mortar as is with any other product.* for High Effected efflorescence walls Contact our Customer Care for solution.
