Kashmiri figs are seasonal fruits from the mulberry family. For supply throughout the year the fruit is dried and stored for consumption More than 60 percent of a fig’s water content is removed by the drying process. As a result, dried figs are a more concentrated source of calories, nutrients and fiber than the fresh variety. Fresh or dried, figs are a significant source of both types of dietary fiber. Their soluble fiber contributes to satiety and promotes healthy blood sugar and cholesterol levels, while their insoluble fiber supports efficient digestion and bowel regularity. The potassium in figs helps keep fluids and minerals balanced in and around cells and throughout your body, which is essential to normal nerve, muscle and heart function. Figs are an excellent source of readily available energy, since most of their calories come from simple sugars.
White golden figs are imported from Iran and are in much demand.
It is a world renowned variety. It is widely grown apple in Kashmir valley. It comes in two colors Red and Golden.

Jammu and Kashmir’s Ladakh region grows most of India’s apricots. Other regions growing the fruit include Kargil. India’s apricot harvest occurs during the late summer months into early autumn. Apricot lovers would do best to stock up on them when available, as they’re highly seasonal.
Dried apricots are available year-round, as are desiccated apricots. The quality of dried fruit varies remarkably in India. Before buying, closely examine the bag and ensure the apricots are soft, pliant, and chewy. Regrettably, many stores purvey hard, dirty, and extremely tough dried apricots. For a nearly identical taste to the fresh fruit, purchase desiccated apricots sold in many stores, soak overnight, and then stew.
This variety of Apple is Indigenous to Kashmir and continues to keep its superiority by virtue of its crisp, sweet flesh and excellent aroma. It Has a longer shelf life and is a excellent dessert variety.
