We offer sodium carboxy methyl cellulose for ceramic application. Akaylose is the trade name of sodium carboxy methyl cellulose (c.m.c.) manufactured by ms. Akay organics limited in our most modern plant at tarapur (maharashtra-india) by using fabdocell process. Akaylose is marketed in white to cream colored powder. It is tasteless odourless, readily soluble in water by dissolves faster in hot water forming almost colorless, transparent, viscous, polyelectrolyte liquid. It has the following functions and properties. It acts as a thicker, binder, stabilizer, protective colloid, suspending agent and rheology or flow control agent. It forms films that are resistant to oils, greases and organic solvents. It dissolves rapidly in cold or hot water. It is physiologically inert. It also has low bio-chemical oxygen demand (bod). These properties and functions makes akaylose suitable for use in a wide range of applications in ceramics, paints, soaps & detergents, paper products, insecticides, textile-sizing, printing and finishing, adhesives, oil well drilling, ceramics, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, foodstuff, foundry, leather, welding electrodes, lamination, beverages, rubber, fertilizer, latex coating, plastics, glass explosives and other allied industries. Akaylose offers a combination of wetting, suspending and adhesive power to the ceramic industries. Added to the glaze formulation, it helps to maintain the viscous and uniform dispersion of stock solution. Akaylose toughens unfired glazes and improves binding resulting in higher dry film strength. Small concentration of akaylose increases green strength plasticity, workability, forms film and controls moisture uniformity.
