The moving Piston produces axial pressure on the Clutch Disc on release of air pressure Piston is pushed back by multiple return springs. In Spring applied brake discs is produced by multiple springs and brake is released by compressed air pushing back the piston. The pneumatic multi-disc clutch and brake units have a torque capacity directly proportional to effective air pressure in the clutch Cylinder. The maximum operating air pressure allowed is 6.0 Bar.

Pneumatic Combination ClutchBrake comprises of a clutch & spring applied Disc Brake which is air actuated. The Clutch Brakes are intricately designed. It has the twin attributes of high thermal capacity & low air consumption which makes it ideal for high speed, high cyclic, heavy-duty industrial application. When cylinder is pressurized, the piston clamps the clutch disc to the hub which transmits the torque to the shaft. When cylinder exhausts, the springs moves the piston in the opposite direction clamping the brake disc & stopping the shaft. The totally cancels out overlap of clutch & Brakes. The clutch brake are housed in a hub which is pressed & keyed to the driven shaft. These plates can be suspended on twelve pins & guide bushes or on two coaxial or non-coaxial bolts.
