The terms are commonly used to refer to the type of paper tissue, usually sold in boxes, that is designed to facilitate the expulsion of nasal mucus from the nose (nose-blowing) although it may refer to other types of facial tissues including napkins and wipes. Facial tissue is often referred to as a "tissue", or (in the United States) by the generalized trademark "Kleenex" which popularized the invention and its use.

The term is commonly used to refer to the type of Printed Tissues, usually sold in boxes, that is designed to facilitate the expulsion of nasal mucus although it may refer to other types of Printed Tissues including napkins and wipes. The first tissue handkerchiefs were introduced in the 1920s. They have been refined over the years, especially for softness and strength, but their basic design has remained constant. Today each person in Western Europe uses about 200 tissue handkerchiefs a year, with a variety of 'alternative' functions including the treatment of minor wounds, the cleaning of face and hands and the cleaning of spectacles.

Non Woven TISSUE

Non Wovenare broadly defined as sheet or web structures bonded together by entangling tissue or filaments (and by perforating films) mechanically, thermally, or chemically. They are flat, porous sheets that are made directly from separate fibers or from molten plastic or plastic film. Nonwoven tissue are multi-purpose tissue that are felt-like in appearance. The main functions for these products are filtration and separation. The most common nonwoven is a needle-punched product. Staple fibers or continuous filaments are bonded by mechanically entangling the fibers with barbed needles.
