Gearbox & Gear Parts

We offer a complete product range of Straight Bevel Gears, Roller Chain Sprockets, greaves gears, nylon gear and Worm Shaft

Straight Bevel Gears

Straight bevel gears are the simplest of the bevel gears. They are manufactured on precision generating machines by indexing method ensuring that the teeth should be of tapered depth and thickness. Teeth are cut on the outside of the cone. They have a straight tooth geometry, which if extends, passes through the intersection of their axes. Straight bevel angle can also be with one gear flat with a pitch angle of 90 degrees. These have conical pith surfaces that operate on intersecting axes. They can be designed and cut to operate on any shaft angle. In straight bevel gears when each tooth engages it impacts the corresponding tooth and simply curving the gear teeth can solve the problem. Straight bevel gears come in two variations depending on the fabrication equipment. They are grouped into Gleason type and the standard type. Major percentage of them is of Gleason type with a coniflex form that gives almost an imperceptible convex appearance to the tooth surface. In the standard form, the gear has no profile shifted tooth.

Hypoid Gears

A hypoid is the name given to a type of helical (spiral) gear. The main application of this is in the final drive of an automobile, where the direction of the drive carried by the has to be turned through 90 degrees in order to power the driven wheels. Conventional straight-cut or spur-cut gears, with perpendicular teeth, are considered to be too noisy in use, and a normal spiral bevel does not always give sufficient contact area. The hypoid gear places the pinion off-axis to the crown wheel which allows the pinion to be larger in diameter. In a normal passenger car the pinion is always offset to the bottom of the crown wheel. This provides for longer tooth contact and serendipitously allows the propeller shaft that drives the pinion to be lowered, reducing the "hump" intrusion in the passenger compartment floor. A hypoid gear incorporates some sliding and can be considered halfway between a straight-cut gear and a worm gear. Special gear oils are required for hypoid gears because the sliding action creates extreme pressure between the teeth.

Spiral Gears

These gears are also known as crossed helical gears. These gears are mounted on shafts that do not intersect and that are at an angle to each other. The angle is usually 90 degree.

Materials Mild Steel Gears

The materials used for the manufacture of gears depends upon the strength and service conditions like wear, noise etc. The gears may be manufactured from metallic or non-metallic materials. The metallic gears with cut teeth are commercially obtainable in cast iron, steel and bronze. The non-metallic materials like wood, rawhide, compressed paper and synthetic resins like nylon are used for gears, especially for reducing noise.

Worm Gear Reducer

  • Applications Worm Reduction Gear Box for Material Handling Equipments, Worm Gear Drives for Crushers, Cranes, Mining
In stone mining worm gearbox are used in wide variety of mining machines like Stone Slotters in Kota stone mining. Here the ambient temperatures are the extremist possible, crossing 50C. In summers, strong dust storms compound the harsh environmental conditions. Water slurry is strewn everywhere, sometimes contaminating the lubrication oil. The outdoor nature of mining means that the Gearbox has to withstand all the environmental problems as well the rough handling. Here, in this environment and working condition, AGNEE worm gearboxes are numero uno choice of mining machine manufacturers and users.

  • Input Power 0.25 HP to 300 HP (0.18 Kw to 224 Kw)
  • Mounting Type Flange/ Foot
The drive arrangement consist of electric motor a multi-stage planetary gear reducer and a single stage spur gear transmission. The electric motor is flanged-mounted to the input of the planetary gear reducer, which in turn is flange-mounted to the input of spur gear transmission. The hollow input of the spur transmission can be keyed directly on to the crystalliser shaft. The drive unit can be aligned in a convenient direction with respect to the crystalliser axis and its torque arm structure is to be bolted at the convenient place. No other additional structure, such as base frames or any couplings are required. The drive unit is completely enclosed & oil-tight. All internals including bearings are oil-lubricated, oil change is recommended only once a season.

Herringbone Gears

  • Application They utilize curved teeth for efficient, high capacity power transmission.
They conduct power and motion between non-intersecting, parallel axis that may or may not have center groove with each group making two opposite helices. The two helix angle come together in the center of the gear face to form a 'V'. in these gears the end thrust forces cancel themselves out. Its difficult to cut this type of gear but its made easier by machining a groove in the face at the point of the apex of the 'V' creating a break in the middle of the herringbone gear teeth. They do not have any separating groove between the mirrored halves.Action is equal in force and friction on both gears and all bearings. Herringbone gear also allow for the use of larger diameter shaft for the same volumetric displacement and higher differential pressure capability.

Face Gears

  • Features The pinion is a normal spur gear and assembly time is reduced because only the axial position of the face gears needs to be set.
Face gears are the gear wheel with cogs mortised into its face, usually in conjugation with a lantern pinion. Face gear enables the transmission of drive through an angle. Their use in high power, high precision applications have become popular. Face gears have high strength teeth and good contact geometry, which give high torque capability. Face gears help to ensure accuracy and rigidity. It is generated by a shaper cutter with the same diametrical pitch and pressure angle as the pinion. Pressure angle of a face gear is calculated by calculating the shape of the tooth, the frontal pressure angle.

Miter Gears

  • Features efficient power transfer and durability, carry heavy loads
Miter gears are bevel gears put together with equal numbers of teeth and axes that are usually at right angles. Miter is the surface forming the beveled end or edge of a piece where a miter joint is made. Miter gears are cut with a generated tooth form that has a localized lengthwise tooth bearing. They are offered in various modules, number of teeth, speed ratio, materials and designs. Miter gears are made of steel, brass, bronze, aluminum, nylon and duracon.

Zerol Bevel Gear

They connect intersecting axes and come in several types. The pitch surface of bevel gears is a cone. They are useful when the direction of a shaft's rotation needs to be changed. Using gears of differing numbers of teeth can change the speed of rotation. They are usually mounted on shafts that are 90 degrees apart, but can be designed to work at other angles as well. These gears permit minor adjustment during assembly and allow for some displacement due to deflection under operating loads without concentrating the load on the end of the tooth. For reliable performance, Gears must be pinned to shaft with a dowel or taper pin.
