Recycling is a process to convert used (waste) materials into new products. This reduces the need to extract fresh, raw material from the Earth. It helps conserve natural resources. It also saves energy, that is, the energy consumption in the manufacturing process by utilizing recycled materials is considerably less than that consumed for producing new products from fresh raw materials.
