Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is a value added engineering product with high corrosion resistant properties, primarily due to the presence of a minimum of 10.5% chromium. This chromium combines with oxygen to form a chrome-oxide surface layer that prevents further oxidation, which results in staining or rusting of a surface. Higher levels of chromium and additions of other alloy elements such as nickel and molybdenum enhance the quality of surface layer and improve the corrosion resistance of the stainless material. Stainless steel today has varied end-uses in utensils, household wares, automobiles, architecture, building, construction, surgical equipment, industrial applications, marine applications and railway wagons.

Grades being offered include

Austenitic grades such as 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 310, 321, Cr-Mn Austenitic grades such as 201, 202, AML-7, AML-6, AML-5

Coal Washeries

Coal and coal products are mainly used in the production of sponge iron, pig iron and in captive power plant. Coal is India's most abundant, safe and secure fossil fuel for use in Steel Plants, Cement plants and Sponge Iron Plants. However, the only problem is the limited availability of good quality coal. The ingress of extraneous dirt further deteriorates the quality. As a result coal of recommended grade is not available. A dedicated coal washery can only help the supply of washed clean coal of recommended quality to the user plants so as to avoid the disadvantages associated with inferior quality of available coal. Therefore a coal washery having beneficiated capacity of 125 TPH has been set up. The annual current beneficiation capacity is 700, 000TPA. The installed capacity has been estimated at 18 hours of working per day and 312 days of working per annum.

Coke Oven

The two coke oven batteries of 30 ovens each have facility of by-product (tar) recovery. The coke oven gas coming out of the oven at about 700 C - 800 C is cooled to 80 C - 85 C by spraying Ammonical liquor. The coking coal (Australian coals) is blended and charged through charging holes and is carbonised in the absence of air. The coke oven gas generated during carbonisation is partly used for battery heating and the rest is sent to rolling mills. The In-house coke oven plant protects the Company from the volatility in pricing purchased coke from China and helps save the conversion cost.

Tmt Iron Bar

Adhunik TMT rebars are produced through Primary Steel making route using virgin iron ore from Captive mines by the world's most advanced technology, - The Tempcore Process - in collaboration with Centre de RechaercheMetallurgiques (CRM) Belgium. Adhunik TMT Bars are subsequently processed through the in house DRI Plant consuming Iron ore mined from own Mines, which is further channelled through Induction Furnace, Ladle Refining Furnace (LRF) to refine the steel to the fullest extent and a Continuous Casting Billet Machine (CCBM). The resultant Billets are of superior quality, containing low sulphur and phosphorus levels and ensures the desired and consistent properties in the rebar. Adhunik TMT Bars are IS: 1786:2008 Certified forFe-415, Fe-415D, FE-500, Fe-500D, Fe-550& Fe-600 grades.

Mini Blast Furnace

For production of hot metal, the unit has installed a blast furnace. In the blast furnace, the burden of iron ore and coke is reduced into hot metal. Coke is used both as reductant and fuel. To maintain heat in the furnace a stove has been set up. A blast furnace of 262 Cu M has also been set up. The production per Cu M is 2.40 tons per day. Considering 340 working days per annum, the installed capacity of the plant is 214, 000 TPA. The hot metal produced shall be transferred to Electric Arc Furnace for primary refining or cast in pig casting machine.
