A flash dryer is used to dry residual moisture from centrifuged cakes or powders. Drying process is accomplished by contacting the powder with hot air travelling at high velocity. The heat is used for drying and the air pneumatically conveys the powder for separation in a cyclone or a bag filter. A product classifier ensures only dry powder leaving the drying chamber. A modified version of a flash dryer is a Ring Dryer and incorporates a centrifugal classifier that uses deflector blades to select and classify air borne particles on the basis of their densities. As a result of centrifugal action, the behavior and wetter particles follow the ring duct periphery more closely and are recycled back, while the fine dried material leaves the dryer with the exhaust air to be collected in the cyclone or bag filter before being scrubbed in a venturi scrubber.
ACMEFIL Fluid Bed processing includes Drying as well as granulation, agglomeration and coating of particulate materials.
It is designed to uniform drying of the material at low temperature and is ideal for a wide range of both heat sensitive and non-heat sensitive prodcts for low moist powder.
In case of fluid bed coater cum granulator, agglomeration and granulation may be performed in a number of ways depending upon the feed to be processed and the product properties to be achieved.
Fluid bed coating of powders, granules involves the spraying of a liquid on the fluidised powder under strictly controlled conditions. We offer fluid bed drying system made up of S.S.304 / S.S. 316 with GMP standards. The complete unit is supplied with suitable motor, blower, filters, filter bag, & control panel. Heating system will be provided as per customer requirement i.e. Steam / Electric Heating system and any other.

A spin flash dryer produces powder from feed, which is viscous or gelatinous in nature, paste or filter cake. The two step process involves disintegration of the feed and drying of the disintegrated feed. Depending upon the nature of the feed material, conventional arm design could be used for crystalline, non-sticky material or Acmefil's specially engineered rotating spin design disintegrator could be used to handle sticky and gelatinous materials. The disintegrated material is brought in contact with the hot drying media, which dries the particle and also pneumatically conveys it for separation in a cyclone or bag filter. A product clarifier ensures desired size and the dried particles only leave the drying chamber. High solid contents make the spin flash drier a very economical drying proposition. Spin flash dryer is a easy process for drying Filter Cakes, Pastes and high Viscous liquid. Advantages :

THE PROCESS :The product is fed to the feed Agitator which is connected to a variable speed screw conveyor and conveyed to the Spin flash chamber in a rated capacity. The air is heated by passing over indirect fired hot air generator. The material come to the spin flash chamber get disintegrated between the rotating spins and simultaneously dried within the hot air media. Dried product is collected from the bottom of bag filter. A separate control panel mounted with instruments is also provided. The process is displayed by MIMIC diagram on control panel. The material of construction of equipment depends on the product to be dried. The advantage of the system is that it can be operated at high temperature for non sensitive products.
Single stage spray dryers offer particle sizes of dried material from 50-250 microns. For producing large particles Fluidized Spray Dryers are employed. The atomization of the feed solution is done to produce large droplets and the drying in the first stage is done keeping the moisture content of the powder relatively high. The moist powder is dried in the integrated fluid bed system at the bottom of the drying chamber using hit air, and in the process, agglomeration of fines to larger particles takes place. The absolute fines are carried with the exhaust air leaving the drying chamber to be collected in the cyclone and further recalculated to the drying chamber. Tertiary drying systems comprise of employing additional external drying system to further increase the particle size. Shown in the layout is one of such system incorporating a fluidized spray dryer with vibratory fluid bed drier.

Vibratory Fluid Bed Dryer - Continuous type
These driers have a bed of solid particles, which are fluidized by passing a stream of air or gas upward through a specially designed perforated sheet. The upward velocity of air is so maintained so as to slightly lift the solid particles and set them in motion. This motion can be utilized to bring about mixing as well as forward movement of the solids. The air or the gas is heated and the heat is utilized to dry the solids. Fines get agglomerated to larger particles thus providing large size granules. A vibratory motor can also be used to provide a mechanical forward motion to the fluidized solid particles.
