The product made from ABRON-S 10 can withstand service temperature in the range of –180 to +350 °C.
APPLICATIONS :
Polyimides are high and low temperature resistance rendering service from –250 to +250 °C. Polyimides are intractable, infusible and insoluble polymers resulting in processing of polyimides as impracticable. Extensive research has taken place in finding out ways and means of getting processable Polyimides without jeopardizing the thermal stability and mechanical properties at extreme temperatures. Indian Space Research Organisation has put considerable amount of R & D in this line and has successfully come out with a prepolymer of polyimide which has excellent processability, stability at room temperature and with moderate cure temperatures. The composite made with this prepolymer have yielded components for space and aerospace applications. ABRON-R 750 is being manufactured by M/s. ABR ORGANICS LIMITED, with the license from Indian Space Research Organisation.
ABRON-R 750 is highly amenable for polar & filament winding technology also. The prepregs made from ABRON-R 750 has a long shelf life of 3 to 6 months at room temperature.
abron pa936 resin system consists of three parts, resin, hardener and solvent. The hardener ( part b ) is to be dissolved into the solvent ( part c ) and then the resin ( part a ) is added to form the resin solution ( specificratios to be taken ).
the main application of abron pa936 system is to manufacture epoxy diamond dotted paper used in the manufacture of electrical transformers. On application to the electrical grade craft paper ( applicator machine ) the resin becomes tack free and remains so for a period of six months in bstage.
on heating the paper to 900c, the resin melts and cures completely in 90 minutes. When used in transformer windings the epoxy holds the coils in place thereby increasing the life of the transformer.

ABRON PIR-15 resin system has been developed for the manufacture of advanced composites for Space, Aerospace & Defense applications. This Polyimide based polymer can be used as a matrix material at temperatures upto 316°C continuous applications and short excursions upto 361°C. Of all the High Temperature materials this polyimide displays exceptional behavior in terms of processing properties, thermooxidative stability and retention of mechanical properties at temperatures in the 300°C– 316°C range.
The main applications of this resin system is in the manufacture of composites for aircraft industry for engine ducts, fan blades, inner cowls, swirl frames, nozzle flaps & fins and bodies of missiles, etc.
The resin system consists of three solutions ( 50 % solid loading in Methanol ) which have to be mixed ( under specific conditions and ratios ), before use. The resin can be used for making prepregs, filament winding or suitably modified for molding applications.
Fabrication of Diamond Grinding Wheels for Resin Bonded Diamond Abrasives.
ABRON PIR1800 is a reactive resin which can be thermally cured to a cross linked polyimide. This resin has been specifically designed for prepreging application and vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (lower viscosity) for structural composite applications where extended high temperature exposures are required. This resin presents a balance of excellent processability and high thermal stability. Excellent strength retention is maintained upto temperatures of 3500C.
Recommended Storage Conditions :
It is recommended to store the resin at 40C and used with in 3 months of receipt. The resin can be stored for longer durations if stored at sub zero temperatures depending upon the application. Resin should be checked for specifications before usage. The resins have to be brought to room temperature (250C) before application / usage. The resin should be used within 3 days after attaining room temperature. Uncapping of the resin containers should be done only at room temperatures, as the resin is hygroscopic.
Avoid moisture contamination and contact with iron which will react with the resin. Stainless Steel containers are compatible with the resins.

This resin offers excellent thermal stability & performance at elevated temperatures (> 400°C). The ABRON – PMR 7200 is PMR type of polyimide resin. Tg: 400°C. And Curing temperature is 316°C and post curing at elevated temperatures is essential.
The system is supplied as a single solution. The solid content of the resin as a single system is 70% or can be supplied as 100 % solid powder ( moulding application ). The combination of environmental friendliness, lower health risk and markedly higher use temperature makes ABRON PMR 7200 well suited for various aerospace and nonaerospace applications. Commercial applications include automotive transportation, defense, sporting goods, electronic, oil drilling, and civil engineering.
ABRON PMR 7200 exhibits high mechanical strength and structural durability at elevated temperatures. It also features significantly less moisture absorption and is therefore less susceptible to moisture induced damage. This resin demonstrates excellent thermal oxidative stability and resistance to microcracking.
The shelf life for ABRON PMR 7200 is 3 days @ 25°C, 6 months @ 0°C.
ABRON PGR 1350 resin system has been developed foruse in the manufacture of pultruded composites. ABRON – PGR 1350 is resol type phenol formaldehyde resin with very good wettability. With the addition of 6 – 9 % of the catalyst there is an enhancement of processing speed and the improvement of mechanical properties of the pultruded part. The developed catalyst is easy to handle and has adequate shelf life.
TYPICAL CHARACTERISTIC PROPERTIES OF COMPOSITES :
ABRON PGR 1350 is compatible with glass roving and mats. This system can be used on standard polyester pultrusion processing equipment, without any changes in the system itself. The die temperatures should be maintained in the range of 180 – 230°C.
The speed of pultrusion would depend upon the shape and thickness of the pultruded profile.
ABRON - PR100 (SL) has been developed exclusively for aerospace and space application. ABRON - PR100 (SL) is solventless resol type phenol formaldehyde resin with very good wettability and high flow. Extended shelf life for ABRON - PR100 (SL) is achieved by terminating the probable chain extending species to the maximum extent. The oxidative stability of ABRON - PR 100 (SL) is superior to novolak resin, as the number of reactive hydroxyl groups in the polymer chain are less compared to the novolak resins. It is an established fact that resol type of phenol formaldehyde resins are used in space & aerospace applications.
ABRON - PR 100 (SL) offers the following distinct advantages over conventional solvent-based phenolic resins :
APPLICATIONS : ABRON - PR 100 (SL) can be used as a resin matrix for fiber reinforced composites. It is also used in the manufacture of resin bonded magnesia-carbon and alumina–carbon refractory bricks. It is also useful in the manufacture of tap hole masses of blast furnaces.
ABRON ABG 2160 is a phenolic resin specifically developed for the manufacture of Ballistic composites. This resin is used to formulate prepregs for aerospace and defense applications. Typical application of these prepregs is to manufacture :
ABRON PNR 18 is resol type of phenolic resin system based on modified phenolic resin and reactive elastomers. This resin is the best sealent coat resistant to organic solvents and having excellent binding property between
ABRON PRH 9(M) resin system has been specifically developed for use as a resin matrix for FRP Hand Lay Up, RTM and filament winding processes. ABRON – PRH9(M)
is resole type phenol formaldehyde resin with very good spread, wettability, surface finish and very good fire resistance. The resin can also be used for filament winding applications too.
For every 100 parts by weight of the resin 6 – 8 parts by weight of the hardener is to be added. Stir / Mix well for about 3-5 minutes. Apply the mixture within 30
minutes. By varying the amount of the catalyst in the resin, the pot life and cure speed can be achieved. Higher the catalyst the shorter will be the pot life and higher cure speed. The composite is to be cured at 60 – 70°C. Post curing of the composite at 80 – 100 C is recommended to obtain optimum thermal and mechanical properties. Slow heating rate to cure the composite is suggested to avoid blisters and optimum cure.
It is essential to use “Phenolic” Compatible fiberglass to obtain best mechanical properties.
