The Camp 5 Elements

On The Ganges. On The Beaches.

Day 01Arrival at the Camp. Welcome drink on arrival followed by Lunch and camp orientation & briefing. Post lunch indulge in camp activities such as Rock Climbing, Rappelling, Beach Volleyball, Beach Cricket, Kayaking etc. In the evening laze over a Bonfire or try your hand at fun games followed by a sumptuous dinner specially prepared by our Chef. Tuck into your Deluxe Tents at The Camp 5 Elements.

Day 02Wake up early to enjoy a refreshing Nature Walk with our guide. After a hearty breakfast change into our rafting gear and proceed for rafting on the river Ganges. You will endeavour to complete 2 stretches on the river today. The first session includes the stretch from Marine Drive to Shivpuri covering thrilling rapids like 'Black Money', 'Three Blind Mice', 'Crossfire', 'Body Surfing', and 'The Shivpuri' rapids. Lunch will be served at Shivpuri on the river beach. Post Lunch you will proceed for the second session of rafting from Shivpuri to NIM Beach. In this stretch one has to negotiate some famous white water rapids like "Return to Centre", "Roller Coaster", "Tee Off", "Golf Course", "Club House" and others till NIM beach where the days' rafting comes to an end. Late evening arrive at The Camp 5 Elements. Bonfire with our guitarist, Dinner and overnight at The Camp 5 Elements.

Day 03You have another very exciting day on the beach. Amongst the many options, you can soak some sun, relax on the beach with a book from our library, try your hands at Kayaking, climb a rock, rapple down the river or just play a sport; baseball, badminton, volleyball, cricket, hiking.
After an early breakfast start your trip from Kaudiyala downstream. The first rapid you hit is called the Daniel's' Dip (Grade IV). The next big Rapid is The Wall (Grade IV+). Between these two there are some Grade II and II+ rapids with long float stretches with enough options to do body surfing as well. These rapids are the most exciting on the river. Rafting ends at Marine Drive with sumptuous Lunch. Post Lunch depart to your next destination.

    Trekking

    Abate offers 7 days Trekking Programme for individuals, families & groups from all walks of life during May-June & Sept- Oct 2006 in and around Manali i.e. Beas Kund Valley under the guidance of highly professional Instructors/ Guides.The itinerary includes two days Rock climbing, Rappelling, River crossing & 5 days trek in the wilderness of Western Himalaya. Rush & book the seats to join 7 days trekking adventure trip with us on the following dates.

    Training Programme for Beas Kund Trekking Trail

    Day-1: Arrival at Manali (6050 ft) registration, issue of equipment, introduction to Museum (F/N) - Lunch - Knot practice- visit Manali, Hadimba temple & back (A/N).

    Day-2: Rock climbing, rappelling (F/N)- Lunch- Lecture on manners & customs of mountain (A/N). Visit to Manali town Adventure movie show.

    Day-3 : Trek to Solang (ht. 8134 ft.)-15 Km (A/N) via Old Manali, Goshal and Burua village - Lunch-Acclimatization trek to Shivling (4 Km) & back.

    Day-4: Trek to Dhundi (ht. 9200 ft)- 8 Km(F/N) - Lunch - River crossing(A/N).

    Day-5: Trek to Bakarthach (ht.10, 800 ft.)- 4 Km (F/N), after lunch to Beas Kund -(ht.12500 ft.) -4 Km & back to Bakarthatch- Night halt.

    Day-6 : Trek back to Solang Nalla-12 Km (A/N).

    Day-7: Trek back to Manali-15 Km- deposit of equipment (A/N)- Lunch?? Closing ceremony (A/N) and departure in the evening.

    PROCEDURE FOR BOOKING :

  • Please ask for the application form or can be downloaded from website www.dmas.nic.in and send the form complete in all respects along with full programme fees by bank draft in favor of DirectorMountaineering & Allied Sports Manali.

  • Tentative booking can be done through e-mail (abate_mytourpartner@yahoo.co.in ) fax or telephone. Final confirmation will be sent after receipt of programme fees.

    GENERAL INSTRUCTION

  • The programme fees includes expenses on boarding, lodging, training equipment, camping and medical first aid.
  • Full day meal veg/non-veg is provided.
  • Dormitory accommodation at Manali and tentage (shared) accomodation higher camps will beprovided.
  • Normal facilities are provided during the programme.
  • Discipline: Participants must maintain discipline. In case of any misconduct, misbehavior or indulge in anti-social activity, the trainees will be expelled from the course immediately no refund of fee will be admissible in such disciplinary cases.
  • All are advised to undergo suitable exercises before joining the trekking programme.

    Refund of fees
  • After joining the course, fees is not refunded.
  • In the event of trekking programme being cancelled by this Directorate 100% of the fees will be refunded. And if it is being cancelled on the request of an individual 50% fee will be refunded.
  • Loss/damage of equipment: Full cost will be recovered from the participants on account ofloss/ damage of equipment.

    How to reach : Manali is well connected by rail & road with Delhi, Ambala, Kalka, Pathankot, Shimla & Chandigarh. By Air from Delhi to Bhunter (Kullu) &50 Km by road to Manali. It is about 16 hours.

    Day 1 : India - Frankfurt - Heidelberg Mannheim Upon arrival, after immigration & customs check, meet Dewan's representative, who will transfer you to Hotel. Once checked into the Hotel, time to freshen up, we take you for an orientation tour of Heidelberg town, surrounded by mountains and forests spread on both sides of river Neckar. Visit Heidelberg's large ruined castle, one of German's finest example of Gothic Renaissance architecture. We'll have time at leisure to stroll through 'Alstadt', the old town, full of narrow alleys, cobble-stoned streets and lined with old ornate buildings, which include the Town Hall, the church of the Holy Spirit and the Jesuit Church. Later transfer to Indian Restaurant followed by transfer to hotel. Meals : Indian Dinner

    Day 2 : Mannheim - Lake Titsee - Rhine Fall - LucerneToday morning, after continental breakfast, we drive to picturesque Black Forest area and stop at Lake Titsee to see how the famous Cuckoo Clocks are being made at Drubba. Time to Shop for Cuckoo clocks and other souvenirs at special discounted prices for Dewan's customers. Later we cross the border & enter Switzerland to visit Rhine Falls at Schaffausen, a place on German & Swiss Border. We spend some time at Rhine Falls. After admiring the mighty Rhine Falls, proceed for Lucerne. Upon arrival, transfer to Indian restaurant followed by transfer to hotel. Meals: Continental Breakfast & Indian Dinner

    Day 3 : Lucerne - Jungfraujoch & - Interlaken (Optional)Today after continental breakfast the day is free to explore Lucerne on your own or take an optional tour to Europe's highest altitude railway station (11, 333ft.).The highlight of every visit to Switzerland is a trip to Jungfraujoch Top of Europe. The trip takes you via Kleine Scheidegg & through the Eigar North wall up to the scenic splendors of the Jungfraujoch in the heart of the wonder world of Glaciers & eternal ice. Experience some of the world's most splendid scenic beauty & waterfalls during the train journey to Jungfraujoch. Views from this unique vantage point extend as far as summits of the Vosges Range in France, the Black Forest in Germany and also directly at the Jungfraujoch, the Aletsch Glacier- the longest ice stream in Alps. We have arranged hot Indian Lunch at Bollywood Indian Restaurant at the height of 11, 333 ft. Later in the afternoon, we start descending from the Alps & reach Interlaken. Once arrive we visit 'Glacier Park' by 'Ice Flyer chair Lift'. Glacier Park- a unique rollick on snow tubes (inner tubes for the snow) or a variety of fun & unusual sledges designed to whisk you down the snow covered slopes, an unforgettable experience. Enjoy hot Indian Lunch at Mount Titlis restaurant, specially arranged for Dewan's passengers. Late afternoon we start our descent & drive to another cosmopolitan city Geneva. Headquarter of many international organizations like United Nations, Red Cross etc. Upon arrival we start panoramic tour & visit UNO building, Red Cross Building, Lake Geneva, Jet d'Eau.     Day 5 : Geneva ParisToday after continental breakfast, we proceed for the fashion capital of the world-Paris. We cross the Swiss border & pass by Dijon, Lyon & other important cities of France to arrive Paris. Upon arrival in Paris visit the main landmark of Europe 'Eiffel Tower' (3 rd Level). The sight of Paris from the Eiffel Tower is really marvelous & worth capturing in the camera. Later proceed for a panoramic sightseeing Include , Concorde square, Champ Elysees, Arc De Triomphe, Trecodero, Notre Dame Cathedral, Invalides, Louvre, Opera Garnier. Later transfer to Indian Restaurant followed by transfer to your Hotel. Meals: Continental Breakfast & Indian Dinner

    Day 6 : Paris - Euro Disney (Optional)- Lido (Optional)Today after continental breakfast, the day is free to explore more of Paris on your own or take an optional tour to the famous Euro-Disney. A day full of action for the children of all ages. One day pass valid on all rides within Disneyland will be given to all passengers. Enjoy rides at Adventure Land, Discovery Land, Frontier Land, USA Main Street & Fantasy Land. Don't forget to be on time to witness the Disney Character Parade at the main square of the Disney World. After such an eventful day transfer to Indian Restaurant for Indian Dinner followed by transfer to hotel. You can also choose to take an optional tour of Paris by Night Tour with Seine Cruise & Lido Show. The night tour start with cruise on river Seine passing through the famous arches, bridges & the important monuments of Paris. We also see illuminated Eiffel Tower at the end of Seine Cruise. After such a magnificent cruise ride, we start exploring the city of Paris by coach. The tour ends at Champs Elysees to see thrilling & colourful extravaganza of Lido show Meals: Continental Breakfast.

    Day 7 : Paris Brussels - AmsterdamToday enjoy continental breakfast; proceed for Brussels- the capital of Belgium. Upon arrival, we visit the Grand Palace & Maniken Piz Statue. We also spend some time for shopping & proceed for Amsterdam - city of windmills & wooden shoes to experience famous waterways of Amsterdam by Canal Cruise & explore the city from the boat. Time free for shopping. Later Transfer to Indian restaurant for delicious Indian Dinner & transfer to Hotel. Evening is free to enjoy famous night life of Amsterdam on your own. Meals: Continental Breakfast & Indian Dinner.

    Day 8 Amsterdam - Overnight CruiseAfter continental breakfast. we take you to another wonder of the world-'The Modurodam' where you can see Holland in miniature, followed by transfer to one of the Europe's famous beach - The Hague. If time permits we will also visit Cheese & clog factory. It's time to cross Channel by Stena Line overnight Cruise. Once on board, you are free to explore the ship on your own. Enjoy delicious continental dinner on board cruise. Crossing English Channel by overnight Cruise is also one of the main highlights of our tour. Meals: Continental Breakfast & Dinner on board.

    Day 9 Harwich - LondonToday morning enjoy English breakfast on- board Stena Line Cruise. Upon arrival, after immigration & custom check proceed for London. Once arrive in London, we start for a panoramic tour & visit The Big Ben, The Trafalgar Square where you can see the hustle & bustle of the visitors from all over the world, The Icon of London- Tower Bridge that is famous as the Landmark of London. We also visit Buckingham Palace. If time permits & luck favors then you can catch the glimpse of The Queen or Prince Charles. Driving through the famous Piccadilly Circus we pass River Thames, which is known as the heart of London, St. Paul's Cathedral that is another landmark of London. After London sight seeing, we visit Oxford Street where one can see the famous stores like Mark's & Spencer's, Selfridges, C & A etc., Later transfer to the hotel. Our Tour Manager's duty ends here.   • Day 3 Innsbruck - Wattens VeniceToday after breakfast, transfer to Wattens, where you visit Swarovski's Crystal World, the makers of world's finest crystals. Experience the magic of crystal dome at Swarovski's Museum among other attractions. Time to shop for finest Jewellery & other gifts for your friends & relatives. Later proceed for Venice - one of the most romantic city of the world. Upon arrival, transfer to St. Mark's square, the heart of the traditional city of Venice by private boat. Once we reach the Square, see the famous St. Marks Cathedral with Bell Tower. Time free to shop at Venetian market or to visit Murano Glass Factory.   • Day 4 Venice - Florence - RomeToday after continental breakfast, sit back and relax in the coach, as we drive to City of Florence, the capital of Tuscany. We stop at Michael Angelo point to have a great view of the city. After admiring view of this city from Michael Anglo point, its time to buy some Italian souvenirs for your friends & relatives. Later transfer to Indian restaurant for lunch. After Lunch proceed for the political Capital of Italy Rome. Upon arrival, transfer to Indian restaurant followed by transfer to hotel.   • Day 5 Rome - PisaToday after breakfast, we start guided city tour of Rome by visiting Vatican City - the smallest country in the world or as one says a country within a country. Mother Teresa was beatified here on 19th Oct., 2003. If lucky we can also have a glimpse of the Pope. We continue our sight seeing & visit Trevi Fountain where you can ask for a wish by tossing a coin over your shoulders into the fountain. Just behind it are the famous Spanish Steps. We also see Arch de Constantine, The Forum Romanum, Colosseum- the venue of grand contests in the ancient times, The Arch of Augustus & other important Roman monuments. Enjoy lunch at Indian restaurant. Later proceed for Pisa, upon arrival, transfer to Indian restaurant followed by transfer to hotel. Meals: Continental Breakfast, Indian Lunch & Indian Dinner .

  • Day 6 Pisa - Lucerne (Switzerland)Today after continental breakfast, transfer to the Square of Miracles. On a vast lawn, the Piazza del Duomo in Pisa houses, four masterpieces of medieval architecture, which influenced monumental art in Italy from the 11th to the 14th century. These sites comprise of a cathedral, a baptistery, a cemetery, and the famous Bell Tower known as the Leaning Tower of Pisa. After we have seen the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa proceed for wonderful Lucerne Switzerland Upon arrival, visit Lion Monument, Chapel Bridge & old town of Lucerne. Enjoy free time to shop around for beautiful watches, Swiss Chocolates & much more. Late evening transfer to Indian restaurant followed by transfer to hotel.     Day 01 : Mumbai Tour starts from Mumbai, a city of dreams that 300 years ago was an agglomeration of seven islands. Modern, yet preserving its antiquities as a short drive through the city will reveal. Board the train in the evening at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, one of Mumbais most famous gothic landmarks. Wine and dine in comfort as the train sets about its voyage.

    Day 02 : Jaigad - Ganapatipule - Ratnagiri - BhatyeAlight at Ukshi station and enjoy a short ride to Rai jetty. Cut through the backwaters, accompanied by exotic birds, to historical Jaigad Fort, high on a cliffside overlooking the ocean. View Konkan village life, unreachable by road. Travel to Ganapatipule by road, a scenic drive. On arrival feast on a vast spread of Konkan cuisine, spending time with local people. Visit the holy temple shrine dedicated to Lord Ganesh and walk the beach amongst swaying palms. Head out to Ratnagiri by air-conditioned coach. This was the internment home of the last king of Burma. Visit Lokmanya Tilak Smarak, Rtanaburg Fort followed by a swim off Bhatye beach. Depart in the evening on the next stage of our journey.

    Day 03 : Sindhuburg - Tarkali - SawantwadiTravel to the tip of the Konkan coast arriving at Sudhuburg Nagari station. Travel to Sundhuburg Fort by boat. On arrival walk the two-mile long rampart walls with views of the open sea. Head to Tarkali beach by luxury coach, a virgin beach at the confluence of the River Karli. Enjoy a Malvani lunch at MTDC Beach resort. Take a ferry ride up the Tarkali Creek moving on to Sawantwadi by coach, the entrance point to Goa and home to the Chitar Ali and Jagannathrao Bhosale Garden. You may also visit Shilpa Gram village to watch local craftsmen go about their work. A traditional meal on board the train during the evening as we head for Goa.

    Day 04 : GoaMorning arrival in Goa, home to Indias finest beaches, jungle clad hills and ancient architecture. Take a walk amongst and amidst the ruins of Old Goa visiting the Basilica of Bom Jesus, the Cathedral and the Church of St. Francis of Assissi, now an archaeological museum. Move on to Priol, home to one of the Mangeshi Temples. A boat cruise down the Mandovi river follows featuring entertainment and Goan delicacies. Visit Fontanhas, the latin quarter of Panjim, Goas capital, followed by Dona Paula, a small palm fringed beach. In the evening head back to the station for wining and dining on board.

    Day 05 : Pune Morning arrival in Pune, former capital of the Marathas and home to poets, writers and artists. Following breakfast the first stop is Phule Mandia, the old central market. We then visit Rajar Kelkar museum, a Rajasthani-style building with some interesting artefacts dating from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Next is the Iyengar Yoga Institute, famous the world over. After lunch at the Taj Blue Diamond we visit the Osho Ashram commune, focusing on meditation. Next comes the tribal museum and the David synagogue. Board a luxury coach to visit the Aga Khan Palace, an historical monument where Gandhi and his wife were imprisoned. In the evening comes the light and sound show at the Shaniwarwada Palace. A sumptuous meal is prepared on board the train prior to departure for Aurangabad.

    Day 06 : AurangabadFollowing breakfast on the train board a luxury coach to visit the fortress of Daulatabad. Next stop is the world famous Ellora Caves, a world heritage site consisting of a series of Hindu, Jain and Buddhist caves originating from the 7th to the 14th centuries. Return to Aurangabad for lunch before visiting the Shivaji museum followed by the Aurangabad Caves and the Bibi-Ka-Maqbara, a replica of the Taj Mahal. Return to the train for an evening meal and departure to our next port of call.

    Day 07 : Ajanta - NashikAfter breakfast alight at Jalgaon station for a visit to the Ajanta Caves, which date from the 3rd to the 7th centuries. The caves contain some of the finest buddhist murals and sculptures ever found.     Gir also has a large population of Leopards that are more easily seen here than elsewhere. Also to be seen are Samber, Chital, Chinkara, Chousingha, Nilgai and wild boar.
