Use of talc reduces the use of the primary pigment that goes into paint production, bringing down the manufacturing costs. It reinforces the paint film and improves the durability and stain resistance of paint. Due to its rust inhibitive properties & corrosion resistance, the finish lasts longer.

Wet scrub resistance : Our talc grades improve the wet scrub resistance of decorative paints, in contrast to talc containing chlorite (Mel-Al-Silicate), which is not hydrophobic.

Mud Cracking Resistance : Our talc's platy particles act as bridges between binder agglomerates and strengthen the paint film. The higher the aspect ratio and particle size of the talc, the better the mud cracking resistance.

Matting : Our Talc gives a silky look to paints. Coarse, lamellar talc particles are very efficient matting agents in high PVC paints, Our fine talc with high surface area can be used to absorb excess binder and give a flattening effect to paints or coatings below critical PVC.

Opacity : Lamellar structure (high aspect ratio) of our grades help to disperse TiO2 to improve hiding power and reduce formulation costs.

Barrier Effect : The talc platelets reduce oxygen or water transmission, and protect the binder from UV radiation, thus improving the weather resistance of outdoor paints,

Anti-corrosive : The same barrier effect reduces migration of corrosive agents through steel protective coatings. At the same time, the hydrophobic talc increases the adhesion of the coating film on the steel substrate, while the platelets improve the mechanical strength of the film.

High Solids : Our double classified, de-dusted talc with low surface area (low oil absorption) allow a higher filler loading in high solids coatings, resulting in lower VOC emission, lower formulation cost and improved performance at the same time.

Bentonite is a natural clay of the smectite family. The montmorillonite platelet structure within bentonite makes it a versatile mineral, no two natural forms are the same and the chemistry is complex. Bentonite sometimes acts more like a chemical than a mineral. Bentonite has some interesting properties. The individual platelets of bentonite can be thought of as a "club sandwich". The platelet consisting of a tetrahedral Silicon Oxide layer with some Silicon replaced with trivalent cations, sandwiched between two octahedral Aluminium Oxide layer with some Aluminium replaced with divalent cations. The edge of each platelet has a hydroxide group whin allows it to form thixotropic gels in water.
Charge imbalances are generated on the surface due to the metal replacements in the structure which are countered by the cations bound to the surface. The individual platelets are surrounded by lattice moisture and stack together to form agglomerates. As a result, tie overall properties of a bentonite are determined by the platelet size, number & size of charges.

Kaolin is a form of clay. Structurally, kaolin is a platy rnineral. The mined and sorted kaolin is then subject to processing by a wet route to produce processed kaolins with desired properties for various applications.
Kaolin is termed as hydrous when the kaolin has the bound water molecule. The presence of water imparts specific properties that are useful for certain industrial applications. They are generally used as fillers in the paper, paint, glass and rubber industries. To lose the water molecule and improve colour, the hycrous clay is subjected to high temperatures and the process in known as calcination. The product is termed as calcined clay. By controlling the calcination temperature, Metakaolin (550-900°C) can be produced. Metakaolin has applications in cement, rubber, cables & ultramarine blue.

As a functional extender in paints, Kaolin offers the following benefits to the formulation:

  • Cost Reduction
  • Increased Opacity
  • Matting efficiency

Quartz Silica

  • Application Glass, Ceramic
  • Grains Size 0.2 mm to 1.2 mm
  • Sio2 98 - 99.9%
  • Fineness 150 - 500 mesh

Quartz Silica is a chemical compound called silicon dioxide. Quartz is also known as a ubiquitous mineral with an enormous number of uses.
It is chemically inert in contact with most substances. It has electrical properties and heat resistance that make it valuable in electronic products. its lustre, colour and diaphaneity make it useful as a gemstone and also in the making of glass. This makes it a very essential mineral in our day-to-day life. Quartz is highly resistant to both mechanical and chemical weathering. This durability makes it the dominant mineral of mountaintops and the primary constituent of beach river and desert sand.
After being processed to quartz sand < 600 uM, the quartz is used in the manufacture of glass; for special paints (road building); in foundries as moulding sand; in adhesives for the ceramics industry; in sand blasting equipment; for sanding sports stadiums; etc. Even finer in the < 80um range with a steep particle size distribution isfound in ceramic: base compounds. and at a fineness of < 20um in glazes.

Applications

  • Paper, Plastics, Paints, and Coatings : Calcite Powder is the most widely used mineral in the paper, plastics, paints and coatings industries both as a filler and due to its special white color w as a coating pigment. In the paper industry it is valued worldwide for its high brigitness and light scattering characteristics, and is used as an inexpensive filler to make bright opaque paper. Filler is used at the wet-end of paper making machines, and Calcite Powder filler allows for the paper to be bright and smooth. As an extender, Calcite Powder can represent as much as 30% by weight in paints. Calcite Powder also is used widely as a filler in adhesives, and sealants.
  • Personal Health and Food Production : Calcite Powder is used widely as an effective dietary calcium supplement, antacid, phosphate binder, or base material for medicinal tablets. In products such as baking powder, toothpaste, dry-mix dessert mixes, dough, and wine. Calcite Powder is the active ingredient in agricultural lime, and is used in animal feed.
  • Building Materials and Construction : Calcite Powder is critical to the construction industry, both as a building material in its own right (e.g. marble), and as an ingredient of cement. It contributes to the making of mortar used in bonding bricks, concrete blocks, stones, roofing shingles, rubber compounds, and tiles. Calcite Powder decomposes to form carbon dioxice and lime, an important material in making steel, glass, and paper.
